Bought a 100 stars dressing gown

It's a sort of kimono style with a collar and tie belt.

Am I completely bonkers to think I could wear it as either a wrap dress or unbelted as a sort of duster coat? With a black long sleeved tee, black leggings and black boots.

This is the one. onehundredstars.co.uk/collections/gowns/products/copy-of-one-hundred-stars-kew-rbg-passion-flower-grey-gown

If it helps, I'm very tall and a reasonably proportioned 14.

Yes, batty, sorry. It's nightwear.

ElizabethMainwaring · 13/06/2020 05:13

It's absolutely gorgeous!!
But I don't think it would look right as a dress. The neck is all wrong for that.
Maybe a duster coat.
It is very beautiful.

Thepigeonsarecoming · 13/06/2020 05:14

It’s clearly a dressing gown. You can’t leave the house in that surely?

Thepigeonsarecoming · 13/06/2020 05:16

Then again I see people shopping in pjs bottoms. I suppose this would be a classier version... but still very much nightwear

whatswithtodaytoday · 13/06/2020 05:18

I think we would need to see it on. It's absolutely beautiful but looks too much like a dressing gown to me. I think the shorter length ones could be worn as a kimono?

EngagedAgain · 13/06/2020 05:19

It's a lovely DRESSING GOWN!

Gatekeeper · 13/06/2020 05:27

Duster coat might do it. I once went out dressed in my late Uncle's pre-war silk pyjamas and an Edwardian nurses belt and looked bloody marvellous

Only the once mind as I got the piss taken out of me all the length of the high street [gtin]

GinasWig · 13/06/2020 05:31

If it didnt have grey matching lapels and pockets then maaaybe as a kimono.
£75 for modal and viscose? Peacocks and primark do similar dressing gowns for £20 😂

Harmonyrays · 13/06/2020 05:39

Its lovely but very much screams night wear!

SouthWestmom · 13/06/2020 05:40

Why didn't you buy a duster coat from them? Did you need the gown and are just thinking of muti use?

Don't thought it looks like a dressing gown.

BinkyandBunty · 13/06/2020 05:50

Thanks all, I was admiring myself in the mirror and got carried away I think! Grin

@Noeuf, yes bought as a dressing gown/resort cover up but it's so lovely I wanted an excuse to wear it more.

Here it is worn as a duster.

It does say can be worn as a housecoat or for layering in the description. I don't think it's obviously a dressing gown so would be fine worn as an accessory. Wouldn't wear it as a dress unless I was staying in though.

Jemimatheragdoll · 13/06/2020 06:07

It's absolutely gorgeous & looks fabulous on you as a duster coat. Probably wouldn't work as a dress though.

I have one I wear as a summer dressing gown but was contemplating buying another to wear as a beach/pool coverup until the holiday got cancelled.

iwannalendyoumycoat · 13/06/2020 06:09

40plusnotgivingup on insta wears hers as duster coats.

MissSmiley · 13/06/2020 06:12

It's gorgeous, I've seen them in rl too and I would definitely wear round the pool, but not as daywear ever

ZaraW · 13/06/2020 06:45

It's lovely but it stil looks like a dressing gown.

Zengarden001 · 13/06/2020 07:08

Yep. It looks like a dressing gown. Very pretty one though!

copycopypaste · 13/06/2020 07:10

It's gorgeous but I think you may look like you're wandering round Tesco in your nightie Grin

Movinghouseatlast · 13/06/2020 07:17

It still looks like a dressing gown because of the collar!

I have 2 day wear cover ups from them. They are similar fabrics but are cut very differently.

I wish they used cotton for their stuff.

mrssmiling · 13/06/2020 08:17

It’s an absolutely gorgeous dressing gown - can see why you’d like to wear it more and show it off, but no! 😁 Could you perhaps get a scarf so you can enjoy wearing the print during the day?

TildaTurnip · 13/06/2020 08:19

I think it looks great as a duster. I’ve seen a lot of brands this season and last with similar.

SouthWestmom · 13/06/2020 10:00

I have one of their short kimonos for day wear and might be a duster having seen this

EachandEveryone · 13/06/2020 10:04

I wish they wouldn’t do just one size they just don’t go over my 36 H’s

Pipandmum · 13/06/2020 10:11

As some one who wore the top half of black satin pyjamas to a black tie event I'd say go for it! The collar and trim on pockets does rather mark it as a dressing gown though. I love kimono style and there are plenty out there meant as street wear. Google kimono and you'll find loads that are perhaps less controversial!
