Any recommendations for a home made hair mask?

Hi there. I'm keen to try some home made hair masks. My hair is naturally nearly black and I colour it myself because I have a few grays at the front and around the crown. It's quite long and frizzy even though I air dry it (laziness!) and only straighten it once a month or so. I sometimes use coconut oil as a 24-hour mask (on dry hair) which I put on in the morning and then sleep on (by the evening it's quite dry). I'm however thinking I should look into eggs (protein is good for hair, right?) and maybe avocado. I also heard honey is good for hair growth/health/appearance. You can probably guess that this request stems from interest in hair but also boredom as my evenings are now spent binging on Netflix! Any input gratefully received :-)

I seem to recall beer was a thing in my youth.

Don't try banana. I repeat do NOT try banana. I mashed some up once with other things and was picking banana chunks out of my hair for HOURS and then i just gave up.

Not sure how you’d rinse off the avocado though if you apply it as a mask.
I use honey for everything but never heard of or used it in a hair mask, I’m not sure it would do anything for hair.

Egg yolk is good but remember to rinse with cold-ish water before washing your hair.

Olive oil or linseed oil are also good - you can warm them up over steam on the hob, apply to entire lenght of hair, cover with plastic bag, cover with towel and leave for a couple or more hours before washing. Argan oil should also work.

Concentrated Nettle team in final hair rinse is also good for dark hair.

There are some natural products that come in a powder format you mix with water or rose water to make a paste then apply as a mask. Amla or something like that - investigate Indian hair care, then order from Amazon. Avoid things that might give a red tinge though. Go for the most basic stuff you can find. I’d also suggest google Iranian hair care advice.
