Is there really a pair of jeans for everyone?

Firstly, I like wearing jeans. It’s my life’s mission to find low rise but they suit me and I feel comfortable in them. I basically wear jeans of some sort every day. I wear them until they are worn through. I’m a Vase in old Trinny/Susannah lingo and they specifically say jeans are good for this body shape.

But recently I’ve started to wonder if many women are not actually great in/with jeans. There are loads of threads about finding the perfect pair, they can be hard to fit/size, especially with the bewildering amount of fits and washes, and I’ve heard several people say they haven’t gone near jeans since lockdown began (which would never have occurred to me).

I’m starting to think the idea every woman should find the perfect pair of jeans is a bit of a fashion mag myth and if you don’t like jeans you should just give up on them entirely and find something you are comfortable in. I’m sure plenty of you have already come to this conclusion so this is more for anyone still thinking there is something wrong as the perfect pair remains frustratingly elusive.

PS I can’t wear a classic white shirt - another alleged must have!

I used to love jeans before I had children, I was hourglass and looked best with bootcut, heels and blazer. Felt really good in this combo. 3 pregnancies and 2 sections later my stomach is huge and flabby with overhang and my shape has just generally changed, there are no jeans out there for me now. I did try various styles and sizes but the were either uncomfortable or mega unflattering.

After a while I made a decision and charity shopped all my jeans and trousers and bought a few dress. I wish I'd given up on jeans earlier! I see so many people wearing jeans that look uncomfortable (I'm not judging them on how they look fashionwise btw) and think how much better they would feel in a nice comfy dress/skirt.

That was my massively rambling way of saying, no, I don't think there are a pair of jeans for everybody!

The best jeans in my personal opinion are wonderfit from Asda. The my are so comfy and are like memory foam to your shape. I'm a big booty girl - think kardashian and your not wrong and they are fab

Jeans are just another pair of trousers, which are available in a pretty much inexhaustible range of styles and cuts. There almost certainly is a cut that suits someone perfectly but one cut does not suit everyone. Behold how awful many people look in skinnies - and yet they were ubiquitous for years. If your best cut was bootcut, you were SOL for a lot of the past 10 years - even if they looked fabulous, you would still be judged by the skinny jeans fashion.
