Beauty Pie products?

Does anyone use them? I’ve come across it online & I’ve seen really good reviews for a lot of their products. I wanted to know if they are worth it?

I do and have had a subscription for 18mths or so. I don't use their skin care exclusively so can't really say how effective it is as I rotate in and out with other brands. I do like the smell of the products though and the packaging is pretty (although sometimes unnecessary), some products come in glass which I like for planet friendliness.

I use and like:
Sleep oil
Jeju day/night moisturiser
The retinol moisturiser
Eyeshadow sticks
Eyeliner

I'd say give it a try!

@YouCantCallMeBetty Thank you, particularly interested in their skincare x

I subscribed last month. I ordered the soul providers sugar scrub which I'm absolutely loving! (also a moisturiser which is nice) Trying to decide what to order when my 'limit' renews.

Bilingualspingual · 10/06/2020 12:32

I use lots of their skincare - vit c serum, super retinol, the japanfusion range. I really like it. I’m a total beauty whore who was spending way too much at cult beauty and this is much cheaper. It seems really good quality.

MabelMoo23 · 10/06/2020 13:51

I use it and quite like it. I have the £10 a month subscription

doadeer · 10/06/2020 14:14

I like it... There's a huge Facebook group if you want any advice on products. I know Plantastic cleansing Balm is popular and the super Retinol

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 10/06/2020 14:17

I've recently started a subscription and so far I love it. The jeju moisturiser is fantastic and I'm really liking the makeup, especially the lip balm crayons and mascara. Everything I've got so far had been very good quality so it is good value, although I find the spending limit irritating.

Tinks15 · 10/06/2020 15:50

Thanks everyone - problem is I wouldn’t even know what to start with first. I have blemished prone skin.

Give a read to the fantastic skincare threads on here. You'll save money and learn loads on how to look after your skin.

Try Inkey list and The Ordinary first

PersonaNonGarter · 10/06/2020 16:46

I am a member and have had a couple of months’ worth so far. I joined for the retinol products, and they do seem to be nice quality and I like the ones I have used so far.

I joined with an annual membership equivalent to £15 a month. That is ‘£150 -Typical Price’ once a month. Including shipping this works out around £35 spend per month if I use my full allowance.

That’s a lot of spend capture. More than £500 per year if I use up all my allowance (which I may not). I decided to do it because the products are recommended a lot by eg Caroline Hirons and also because I fancied trying some new things a bit cheaper. And because online shopping is the only option in lockdown so I am not browsing in Boots.

However, I do think it works out pretty expensive in the long run. The value of the products is fine but the delivery is so slow (10 days).

plunkplunkfizz · 10/06/2020 22:02

Today’s email was a long read, wasn’t it?

pigletpie2177 · 10/06/2020 22:15

@plunkplunkfizz the email that said they would increase prices and use the difference for them to make a charitable donation 🙄 I think they are good at wording things very cleverly so it sounds like they've done something great when they haven't.

I've been with BP since January OP. The products are ok but I'm yet to find anything particularly special. If you join the Beauty Pie Community group on Facebook be warned that it is policed and censored - there has been recent controversy about deleting comments about the lack of diversity across their foundation shades. I'd suggest Beauty Pie Addicts which is run by people who subscribe to BP but not the cult like attitude of the Community group!!

AnxiousElephant77 · 10/06/2020 22:19

I use the Vitamin C serum in the morning and the Retinol at night. The candles are lovely and I swear by the translucent powder.

plunkplunkfizz · 10/06/2020 22:22

That’s the one. Really struggle to believe they hadn’t noticed that. I work for a retail website with ten of thousands of items of inventory. Pricing mistakes are unbelievably rare.

pigletpie2177 · 10/06/2020 22:31

Yep, a company whose entire business model is about costing transparency and working everything out to the penny didn't notice they were charging more for darker shades. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they stopped treating customers like idiots and sending out this disingenuous tripe.

Carycy · 10/06/2020 22:35

I like the makeup. The skin care I struggle to find much that I love. The cleansers are nice and there are a couple of nice moisturisers. But the serums all have either sillicones, perfumes, citrus extracts (An irritant) or alcohol in them. Struggling to find one that doesn’t have at least one of these ingredients.

PersonaNonGarter · 10/06/2020 23:45

That was a long read. I wasn’t completely sure but I think it was ‘you’d like to make a donation on our behalf, wouldn’t you?’

It wasn’t very clear at all. They need new comms people.

pigletpie2177 · 11/06/2020 00:02

They absolutely do. Apparently MK wrote that herself, which makes the "she never does this as she's so busy" even more cringeworthy. So they additional monies will go on their turnover but then be tax deductible as a charitable donation. Without them having to do anything. Clever. I'd been hanging on to see their "big plan" they've been talking about since the BLM criticism started but I'm done with them.

plunkplunkfizz · 11/06/2020 08:40

Same for me. I was a bit meh about everything I’ve bought so far, hate the subscription model and the delivery times, and this was the last straw for me.

Tinks15 · 11/06/2020 09:26

I don’t think I’m going to bother, I’ve since been reading up on Inkey list & seen good things about it.

OP posts:
PersonaNonGarter · 11/06/2020 11:23

That email has annoyed me a bit this morning.

Beauty Pie should do their charitable giving from their own profits like most firms. If they want to promote a cause with a product, do that, but the £11 was weird.

fadedout · 11/06/2020 12:31

Inkey list and The Ordinary but much much better
