Recommend me some really good jeans

I’m in the process of losing weight and want a really lovely pair of jeans to invest in once I’m at my target (about another stone).
I’m 5’4” and prefer skinny jeans, not too low or high waisted. Will be a size 8/10 hopefully but with a biggish bum. Want something that will hold shape, not too much stretch, but super comfy.

What’s your budget op? I like Tommy Hilfiger, they hold their shape, don’t sag and are very comfortable. Price eighty to a hundred pounds

Smarshian · 08/06/2020 20:39

I guess up to £150 for a really good pair. Any particular Tommy Hilfiger cut I should look at?

Prepared to be shouted down, but look for and try on some German brands. Robell, Luisa Cerrano and Annette Goertz (price order) come to mind. (The prices WILL make your eyes water.) The fabrics and figure flattery are quite remarkable, and they are comfortable to wear and wash well. But I only buy in sales.

Wavingwhiledrowning · 08/06/2020 20:48

I've tried a lot of jeans. My figure is similar to yours. Honestly, the best pair I own is from h&m - their 'shaping skinny'. They still feel firm and like their doing stuff (holding everything in place!) after ages, but they're really comfy too. I will say though that they can be really variable. I got an extra pair and they were nothing like the first. Sent them back and got another in store and they were spot on.

I compensate by buying tops from Uniqlo and the High St mainstream brands.

Bluntness100 · 08/06/2020 20:56

I guess if you want skinny mid rise those would be the ones to go for.

They do have lots of styles though. If you can spend up to 150 you could maybe get a couple of pairs in different colours. I’ve several, they hold their shape even after many wears and no washes, and are very flattering. Plus different lengths.

@XingMing I’ve never heard of any of those. Will check them out. @Wavingwhiledrowning I will check those out too. I might get a pair anyway to try.

Levi's all the way!

MeMeMeYou · 08/06/2020 21:04

Never found better than topshop for my shape

uncomfortablydumb53 · 09/06/2020 16:54

Top shop Jamie Petite here... Perfect fit for my long body/ short legs

nomorelove · 09/06/2020 19:52

Topshop Jamie . Nothing comes close .

MikeUniformMike · 09/06/2020 20:19

I normally wear brands like Levi's.
I have some skinnies from Fat Face and they have stretch but keep their shape and are comfortable.

MoonGeek · 09/06/2020 20:41

I am a similar size to you and I wear children's jeans, boys age 12 or 13. I like jeans with no stretch in them and can't find them in women's jeans any more. Also - cheap! My last pair were from m&s and my favourite pair a boden but they have now put stretch in them.

MikeUniformMike · 09/06/2020 21:29

M&S have a selection of jeans and you can probably go down a size. Gap are the same. I think I have some from Gap that are pretty good but I can't remember if they are from the women or children's range.

You can get 100% cotton but you have to check.
