At home gel nails peeling right off

Any suggestions? Have Mylee lamp and base and top coat and blue sky gel ? I'm remembering to cover the tip and slightly over the nail (to seal)
Bit annoyed after spending so much but maybe I am doing something wrong.

If you go on the the cuticle at all they peel really quickly, or if you have any oil at all on the nail.
I give mine a brief buff by hand, especially close to the cuticle, swipe with acetone to remove any oil, the apply, taking care not to touch the varnish to the skin or cuticle at all.

I can't speak for the brand you're using, I have a cheap eBay lamp, and use shellac varnishes.

Hey I use the blue sky gels - I would say remember to wash with soap before starting so there is no oily barrier, then buff to make the surface less smooth and make a better base for the polish to stuck to. I also am doing at least 2 minutes curing for base and top coats, and just 60s for my colour and getting much better results. I do miss my manicurist as she is much faster than me, but have managed pretty well!

I found Bluesky gel peeled off very quickly in my nails. I think it is a case of you get what you pay for 😂

You maybe need a nail dehydrator applied before and make sure you wipe anyway any oils using a prep liquid. I’ve not had an issue so far!

If you use very thin coats (at least three) and cure properly between each coat, it helps. I found that thick coats tend not to cure properly and peel a lot easier.

Also a quick wipe with Isopropyl Alcohol before your base coat helps make your nails oil free (but isn't as drying as acetone).

I found mine peeled off when I OVER cured. I now do what Mylee state and it's 30sec base and colours and 60sec final coat. It now wears well. Check you are using LED lamp and LED cured polish and not UV

I will check that. Thanks so much for all of your advice. I won't get a chance to do them tomorrow but hopefully will later in the week.

Thinner layers has definitely worked for me, it's also made me less likely to go anywhere near my cuticles. I scrape the excess gel off the brush until the brush is basically bare and build.

Agree with the curing, the longer the cure seems to be the shorter the life of the polish. 30 seconds base, 30s first two coats of colour, 1 min last coat of colour and 1 minute for the top coat.
