False lashes for a beginner

Does anyone have any recommendations for false lashes that are easy to apply and subtle-ish?

I've never worn them before but would like to try them. I have quite long lashes anyway and got overwhelmed with the choice and how some (or maybe a lot) seemed to be marketed at the over-the-top "when you blink they look like butterfly wings look" Grin I'd just like some that would complete a dressed up going out look but not look obviously fake or outrageous.

Also, how easy are they to put on? I can barely tie a shoelace so have visions of me pouring glue in my eye or putting them on wonky... Wink

I'd like to try false eyelashes too but I'm worried they'd damage my natural lashes especially when removing them Blush or would that not happen if you only use them occasionally?

I use Ardell individual lashes, medium length.Being using them for years and had comments about how natural they look.
I find individual much easier to apply than strips.
Easy to take off without ruining your own lashes,i just soak cotton wool in warm water and hold over eye for a minute and they just come off on it.
