I love this and have used it for years.
Topped up again last week with a large pump version.
But so disappointed- it smells different. Almost acrid and chemically.
Have they changed the recipe does anyone know? It looks exactly the same.

Dunno, but just about to order some so hope not.

Where did you buy it from? Might it be fake?

Doyoumind · 07/06/2020 12:16

If it's pure almond oil the only thing that could change is where the almonds are from and how they are pressed. Oil can become rancid if it's not looked after properly (away from light and heat) or kept for too long. You don't need to spend a fortune on almond oil, by the way. Good almond oil from a different brand would probably be a lot cheaper.

It’s not old stock is it? Or it might have been stored badly. I’d send it back.

I got it direct from L'Occitane as part of a bigger order.
It's subtle but definitely different.
They have changed their Verbena hand wash too which is annoying but many have noted already- much less citrusy.

The normal stuff isn’t pure almond oil I don’t think. It must have stuff added to it, it’s much more marzipan scented (probably artificial) than almond massage oil I’ve bought before.

If they’ve changed the hand wash I guess they’ve changed the shower oil.....cost cutting!

Contact them direct, they will probably accept a return if it doesnt suit
