Wellies

I know, it's not really the right time of year but I have birthday coming up and lovely parents who like to get me something "good" that I wouldn't buy for myself. I always struggle for ideas.

In the winter months I wear wellies a lot, but I've never paid more than about £15 for a pair. The last ones leak, maybe you get what you pay for but they were probably a decade old!

Anyway, I'm considering an upgrade. Hunter is the only good brand I know and £££. Are they worth the money, what do you get extra compared to my old Peter Storm ones? Style? Comfort? Last longer than 10 years?!

Are there other good brands to look for?

Yeah I have Aigle Parkour Vario ones.

You get them on Amazon and the price goes up and down like a yo yo but if you use camelcamelcamel you'll get an alert when they hit the price you can stomach. I got mine for £82.

So nobody pays full price in other words.

They're lined with neoprene and toasty warm but there are non lined versions too. In hindsight I don't think you need the neoprene unless you're up in the Highlands or something. It's fairly mild here.
