Why is my skin like this?

I've used allot of skincare products and I've found out the only ones my skin will tolerate is fragrance free cleansing lotions, moisturisers and serums. No exfoliating products what so ever otherwise my skin just goes bright red and uncomfortable. I have uneven skin texture as you can see and I don't know how make it smooth. I'm currently using:
Simple purifying cleanser lotion with a flannel
Superdrug hydrating serum
Dermalogica calm water gel
Simple rich moisturiser
All in that order.
The picture is of my cheek.

Why is my skin like this?

Mine is like that too. I don't exfoliate only occasionally, and I think I wash my face too often.

OP I too use a lot of products and look after my skin, but still have skin issues. It infuriates me that my husband uses nothing and his skin is absolutely beautiful. So I think it has more to do with genetics and each skin rather than what we do to it. I have tried so many things at all sorts of prices and nothing has made a difference to me.

Hi Lottie - there is a threat called fantastic skincare something something within the style and beauty section. At the top of the thread there are some cheat sheets for skincare. Might be worth a look?
