Best hair masque you’ve ever used?!

My hair is super dry on the ends despite no bleach or colour!

It’s dull and tired - aren’t we all!

What’s the best hair mask you have ever used?!

Thank you in advance x

My hairdresser says save your money and do not buy really fancy expensive treatments.....get a good conditioner that your hair likes, towel dry your hair, sleep with loads of conditioner on and rinse off in morning, or loads of conditioner plus a plastic bag over hair during the day (with towel over the bag to keep in place) so its like a heat treatment....its cheap and works!

The John Frieda Miraculous Recovery treatment is good. Sometimes I buy a sachet (one application) for £2. Or, try Give Me's Hair Mask from Give Me Cosmetics, currently £9 for a tube - really good!

Agree with areallthenamesusedup Whatever conditioner you use, always towel dry your hair and lather on the conditioner. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for at least 6 hours or sleep in it. Rinse out and your hair will be lovely.
Opalex and all the other ridiculously priced products do nothing, in my opinion.

Coco & Eve, Kerestase and most of the Loreal ones are very good if you're on a budget. I notice a big difference between treatments with conditioner and a proper masque.

Christophe Robin Regenerating Hair Mask with Prickly Pear Oil is really fabulous. It is really pricey but I was lucky enough to get a free sample sachet to try, I have splashed out on a full size pot now, it is that good.

I really like the Osmo intensive deep repair hair mask. The 100ml tub goes a long way and it's only about £4, although I actually bought some the other day from Just my Look for £2 including delivery Shock

Laks0007 · 05/06/2020 18:58

Davines are fabulous. I use them instead of conditioner you just need a tiny bit. I've tried wake up circle and this one ( my favourite makes your hair so shine) www.cultbeauty.co.uk/davines-the-renaissance-circle.html

The best ever was boots coconut hair mask which I think they discontinued as I haven't been able to get it.

Second best is tressemme repair with the purple strip on the front.

Kerastase masquintense for thick hair but I also love coconut oil

Pumpcushion · 05/06/2020 21:35

Argan oil deep conditioning mask left on in a towel - feels and smells amazing and not expensive

DrDavidBanner · 05/06/2020 21:50

Yeah, what allthenamesareusedup says, leave your conditioner in, maybe add some oil as a hot oil treatment. Coconut oil, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil or Olive oil are good. Wrap your hair in a plastic bag or chuck on a shower cap. Couple of layers is even better, I did this after the weeks we've had of baking in sunshine and my hair is like silk.

lotusbell · 05/06/2020 22:26

@Laks0007, thanks, just bought this one, looking forward to try it.

Custardcreamies101 · 05/06/2020 22:41

The body shop Shea butter one

TheCanterburyWhales · 05/06/2020 23:55

Macadamia range from Allbeauty. (Not the pound shop macadamia- similar coloured packaging)
You get massive tubs for about £20 and it lasts months.

Popc0rn · 06/06/2020 00:24

Coconut oil applied to dry hair, left overnight and shampooed in the morning.

Defiantly41 · 06/06/2020 00:30

Pureology moisture mask is excellent . Also love their shampoo and conditioner, best ever for my mid length highlighted hair

DukeOfEarlGrey · 06/06/2020 05:33

I’d go for both - good hair mask slapped on generously, covered in a shower cap and left on all day. A bit pricier than some suggestions but I like Moroccanoil masks - they make two for different hair types and leave your hair super soft and smelling lovely.

I’ve been known to cover my head in cling film and leave it on whilst doing the cleaning in my pyjamas

MorrisZapp · 06/06/2020 06:00

Oribe Gold Lust transformative masque is INSANELY expensive but gave me results I've never had outside a hair salon before, ie the slippy, swingy hair that only a pro blow dry gives. Bleached blonde here. You can buy samples on ebay for eight quid, I'm still not finished mine as you use a small amount.

lotusbell · 06/06/2020 10:15

Bleach London do a good mask for about 6 or 7 quid in a big metal tube.
The Davines one recommended above I used this morning is gorgeous although expensive for the size.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2020 13:11

The Superdrug argan oil pre shampoo mask, my hairs wrecked from having to shower after each shift, I left it on 45 mins this morning & it’s so much better.

ChocRasp · 06/06/2020 16:04

Can I ask a daft question?
I bought an Aveda masque that I use in the mornings before a run, dampen hair, slap on product, pony, run then shower it off.
Should I be washing my hair before and after? Doesn't shampooing just wash it off.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2020 16:49

I’d go for before.

AlexChitChatting · 07/06/2020 10:48

If you wash it first, the hair will absorb water instead of the product. Put it on dry hair and it will get absorbed much better.

superstar63 · 07/06/2020 16:35

Can you use any hair mask on dry hair? I always thought it had to be on damp/wet hair. It would be a lot easier on dry hair.
