Suddenly feel like I'm ageing

I have just turned 42 and feel like the ageing process has suddenly stepped up a gear...yes, I know it's normal and happens to us all but it's really unsettled me as it seems rapid all of a sudden!! 😧 Particularly my neck...aaagh!!!! What are other people's experiences\ages you noticed things changing noticeably?

I could have written this exact post - was 42 in January and caught sight of my neck in the mirror a couple of months ago and thought WTF?! It's gone all crepey.

Sorry, no miracle cures that I've found as yet, but wanted you know you had company!

I have no answer either, but I have been thinking about this a lot lately and how to come to terms with it. I am more for embracing it, owning it, it will happen to every one us at one point or other. You don't owe anyone youth or beauty.

Of course easier said than done!

For me it was hollow cheeks OP - I still have relatively few wrinkles (late 30s) but I’ve lost the youthful plumpness in my cheeks in the past year or two and it’s aged me very suddenly by at least a decade. I blame stress (work/kids/illness) as I don’t drink/smoke/sunbathe and have young-looking parents, so there’s no other logical reason! After years of being told how young I look for my age I’m trying to do what Ana suggests and embrace my middle-aged face [weeps]

erm....late 30s is not old enough to worry about aging Hmm. If you are looking old in your late 30s, you need to look at your lifestyle or genetics because most people look great at that age.

I woke up one day and thought shit I look old. Where did these lines come from. I don’t remember this from yesterday etc...

Depressing. It doesn’t get any better lol.... 😭

Oh if I could go back to any time it would be to age of 33.

Facelift helped me but was bloody painful and in all honesty I wouldn't recommend it for that reason. Had it done at 48 and it probably took about 10 years off me for a while. I think I might need to go back for another, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough, now I know what it entails.

Yeah I'm looking older too. But this is normal! It's ok to age.
A wrinkled but very happy friend said to me a couple of years ago, just remember you'll never look or be younger than you are today so just enjoy it!' Wise words.

I’m in my 50s and have really good skin, hardly any wrinkles etc!
And although I suffer from rosecea, meds keep that in check!

I too have noticed a ‘surprise’ turkey neck wrinkles etc.
Tried lots of different things, nothing worked! Used some palmers stretch mark cream by mistake one day ... what a revelation! Only used it for a week and it’s seriously so improved I beyond pleased!

Hope it helps one of you!
