Are they as good as people say?

Are they comfy and easy to wear?

I love them. I can wear them all day and they’re so comfy. I wear them all summer long. They never feel hard to me, I guess it’s just whether they suit your feet or not.

nanbread · 05/07/2020 23:33

They are very flat, but very flexible and I love being able to wear them in the sea / beach. I can walk a few miles in them fine.

I do wear my Teva more now though as they're nice and squidgy.

timtam23 · 05/07/2020 23:39

Extremely hard and flat as others have said, a very low heel with no arch support - I ordered some a couple of years ago when everyone else seemed to be wearing them, but I sent mine straight back. I prefer something with a bit more support and "give".

Kintsugi16 · 06/07/2020 00:47

Too flat and I feel like a schoolgirl

Sittingontheveranda · 06/07/2020 02:42

They look cutesy if you've got small tanned and well manicured feet- I was in s lift with someone in a yellow pair and they looked great on her because she was tiny

This. Anytime I notice them enough to admire them, the wearer has narrow, tanned feet and polished toenails.

They look terrible on my white, fleshy, wide, flat feet. They look either like nun's sandals or look like I'm trying and failing miserably to look cute sandals.

Interesting response, they seem a bit marmite. I love Birkenstocks but get through two pairs a year as the cork just disintegrates when wet. Would love to find something equally comfy and supportive but more hard wearing.

dontgobaconmyheart · 06/07/2020 12:53

MN is how I heard about them and it's still the only place I do- along with several other items of clothing that everyone on MN seems to own and recommend to the point its ubiquitous but I rarely see in real life, or think looks great if I do see it.

I don't own saltwater but have tried on my sisters pair. I did find them uncomfortable owing to the total lack of support and they did nothing for my outfit. I think they can look quite nice/cute in that bright coloured twee mummy joules boden cornwall naice national trust holiday sort of way, but that isn't how I dress. I do like them on those people though, despite disliking the general style.

mizu · 06/07/2020 13:31

nanbread yes, me too, I have 2 pairs of saltwaters, tan and yellow but since getting some Teva sandals, have barely worn them.

ChristopherTracy · 06/07/2020 13:42

I really like mine and don't have issues with pain or anything - I have very thin, arched feet. My only issue with them is that my heels get really dry and cut up in them so I have to use heel cream.

I do tend to wear them all day at festivals and around amusement parks etc with no issues apart from the heels.

I cant wear strapless sandals like birkenstocks as they fly off and hit other people in the face.

Notcontent · 06/07/2020 18:02

I really like them as they are a plain, practical sandal.

It’s very hard to tick every box with shoes. So they are not ideal for very long walks and they are obviously not glamorous - if that’s the look you are going for. But if I could pack just one pair of shoes for my holiday, that’s what I would pack.

Which Teva did you get?
WellTidy · 06/07/2020 18:10

Very uncomfortable indeed for me. Really flat, hard underfoot and no support whatsoever. I found them painful to walk in and the pain came from underfoot.

If you like the look of them, I would 100% recommend wasabi sandals by moshulu, which come in loads of colours and are much more supportive. I buy them every year and wear them daily, could walk for miles in them. I have silver and blackcurrant this year.

Bingaling30 · 06/07/2020 18:34

It's true there's no support to them but I've personally never found mine uncomfortable! They say to soak them when you first get them and wear them till they dry, and they will be the perfect fit for your feet. Worked for me!

The older purple ones I wear for walks. The new colourful ones with dresses and jeans.

Happymum12345 · 06/07/2020 20:43

I love love love my saltwater sandals-I have lots! I’ve walked for miles and miles in mine. They are flat and I should imagine not so comfortable if you don’t have much padding on your feet.

CountreeGurl · 06/07/2020 22:53

Love them, so comfortable
