Saltwater sandals

Are they as good as people say?

Are they comfy and easy to wear?

They are very flat and hard as others have said. They look cutesy if you've got small tanned and well manicured feet- I was in s lift with someone in a yellow pair and they looked great on her because she was tiny.

There are much nicer sandals around.

peachgreen · 05/06/2020 23:23

I adore mine. Have very soft sensitive feet and can't wear Birkenstocks or anything similar. But I've walked miles in my Saltwaters.

JessicaDay · 05/06/2020 23:29

@achillesratty

I tried them and sent them back. They are totally flat with no support and no padding on the insole. They looked like my school sandals circa mid 70's.

I am convinced Seasalt have "plants" on here to say how wonderful and stylish they are but I just didn't like them at all but I know lots of people rave about them.

This. Saltwaters are very, very uncomfortable. The regularity with which threads pop up singing their praises is just astonishing.
cheezy · 05/06/2020 23:32

I find them very comfortable indeed. I lived in them last summer. I could tramp around a European city all day in them I reckon.

Amyheadache · 06/06/2020 01:58

I have really wide feet and find some many shoes uncomfortable. I’ve had so many failed shoe purchases.
I love my salties! They’re like slippers comfortable ❤️

Myfriendanxiety · 06/06/2020 02:06

I live mine! I have a high instep and small narrow feet and can walk all day in them no problem.

AmethystMoonShine · 06/06/2020 07:11

I love them. I have wide feet and they don’t run and crush me toes like other sandals. Top tip is to wear them in water as soon as you get them (Bath is fine if no sea/river handy Grin) then wear them until they’re dry and they’re a perfect fit!
I have about seven or eight pairs Blush
I’ve got the normal ones in black, tan, red and claret. The retro woven ones in navy and the retro woven slides in pewter and olive.
I assure you I’m not a plant/don’t work from them.
I’ve purchased direct from Saltwater (sale), Office with 20% code and from Toast in sale. I don’t like to pay full price for anything Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 06/06/2020 07:12

Rub not run Blush

skippetyskoo · 06/06/2020 07:35

I love my saltwaters. I also had to wet them when they arrived and let the dry on my feet. They soften and mould to your feet. I wear them on long walks, at work and sightseeing etc. I want a second pair now but waiting for a discount code!

PearsMorgan · 06/06/2020 07:44

They are inexplicably comfortable although my feet get very dirty wearing them.

I’m not a plant. Different shoes suit different feet maybe - I can’t wear converse.

BusinessGoose · 06/06/2020 08:00

I just got a pair in black a couple of weeks ago. I bought them purely for comfort and they are, although they aren't very supportive or stylish. They look quite clunky and shapeless on. Still like them but wouldn't rave about them.

mizu · 06/06/2020 09:19

Love mine. Got 2 pairs - tan and yellow. Mind you I've been wearing my Teva sandals a lot more this year so far as we've just been walking a lot.

mizu · 06/06/2020 09:20

And I can't wear Converse either.

Itscoldouthere · 06/06/2020 09:32

I love them too, I’m getting my 5th pair (classic in white) for my Birthday tomorrow.
I used to wear Birkenstocks but since moving to the countryside found Saltwater much better, I do wear them on country dog walks, but it’s flat where I live, I find them very comfortable, but I’ve always worn flat shoes, you wouldn’t get me in a high heel shoe, I find them excruciating.

Bagelsandbrie · 06/06/2020 09:34

I have two pairs and love the way they look but as others have said they’re very flat and have no padding whatsoever under foot. I couldn’t walk round in them for a whole day out.

Bagelsandbrie · 06/06/2020 09:35

I got myself a pair of Teva sandals this year and they’ve become my new favourites.

KitNCaboodle · 06/06/2020 09:35

The pads of my feet are so sore in them if I wear them a few days on the trot. Do other people not suffer with this?

allfalldown47 · 06/06/2020 09:39

I have a pair and find them incredibly comfortable.
My friend would say they aren't for larger feet, I have small, dainty feet which they seem to suit, she tried some on and they did look different on her size 8 feet!
I got a kids pair, loads cheaper but same style and go up to size 5.

ScorpionQueen · 06/06/2020 15:55

@Judystilldreamsofhorses
If your red pair are a 6 I'd be interested. I'm looking to buy a neutral pair but have a jumpsuit that needs red shoes.

woofsaidtimmy · 06/06/2020 16:14

I hated them, really hard underfoot. Also I was between sizes so in the smaller size I could feel the stitching under my toes and the larger size felt like clown shoes.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/06/2020 16:17

I love mine. I'm not a plant! I have 3 friends who have 2 pairs each. Some colours are softer leather than others - my rose gold are the most comfortable.

DianaT1969 · 06/06/2020 16:44

No. Not comfortable.
We have a marketing person (or 2) from Saltwater on MN who push them on threads each summer.

DianaT1969 · 06/06/2020 16:54

Seriously, what good are sandals that you can't walk far in?
If I had the strong foot arch I had when I was in primary school and last wore this type of sandal, fine. But most of us on MN are considerably older and carrying an extra 30+ kilos.
Why, just why? There are far more attractive and supportive sandals around.
If anyone is easily influenced, don't fall the planted marketing people with multiple user names from Saltwater on here.

peachgreen · 06/06/2020 17:03

I'm not a marketing person. Hmm I'm a long term poster with a posting history. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean those who do are all plants.

DavetheCat2001 · 06/06/2020 18:53

I'm not a SW marketing person either ffs! Confused
