Home eye brow dying

I usually get my light coloured lashes and brows dyed at the salon but obviously that's not happening at the moment. I saw a you-tube video of someone dying her brows using Just for Men beard dye, she made it look really easy and so I ordered some to try it. Now I'm scared! Has anyone ever done this, and how did it go? Shall I just stick to filling them in with a pencil for now, or should I go for it? I will definitely do a patch test first.
The colour I went for was medium brown-black which seemed like a good idea at the time, to avoid getting ginger eyebrows but I don't want them too dark!!

I do mine all the time. Not sure if it’s significantly different, but I do use proper eyebrow dye. Never tried Beard dye.

The dye I use is really easy to use (you mix it with peroxide) It tends to ‘take’ really quickly, so I keep putting it on and wiping it off every minute or so until I’m happy. It settles down and looks more natural a couple of day later I find.

Only do my eyebrows. Sometime get lashes done at a salon, but too fiddly for me to attempt at home.

You can get refectocil and the developer from amazon. It's what they use in salons. Not expensive and takes away the risk of an unknown result.

This is the one I use My brows are very pale naturally, hair colour reddish/ blonde.

Sorry that should link to the Combinal mini kit number 5 (there are other shades of brown too)

If you have light coloured eyelashes and brows I wouldn’t recommend medium brown black dye for your eyebrows.
I have fair hair and dye my own lashes and brows all the time. It’s very easy. I use refectocil light brown for eyebrows and blue black for lashes. I haven’t found light brown refectocil to have any red tones in it.

I think it naught be too dark for you. My hair is very dark brown and I only use mid brown as it’s quite dark.
The process is very easy, just be careful to not dye your skin at the same time! I’ve even started to wax underneath and above to get a nice sharp line and get rid of all the fine hairs.

I do my own lashes but am scared to try the brows. Naturally they are very fair and I'm worried that I'll go too dark and also that the poor effort at shaping them will be more obvious with darker brows. So for the time being, I have sun kissed eyebrows

Greenfinger555 · 05/06/2020 18:14

That colour will be too dark. If I were you I'd do as previous posters have suggested and get the dye and developer off ebay. I'm a red head and use mid brown on my brows and blue black on my lashes and it looks fine. It's really easy to do and will save you time and money in the long run x

i also use refectocil it really is the best stuff for getting the actual colour you want. i once used a sallys one because it was out of stock and the medium brown gave me black eyebrows for 2 weeks lol

Would you mind posting links or pictures to what you use? I have completely blonde eyelashes and eyebrows and desperate to get some colour back...

I got the eyelurd brand dark brown kit off amazon. It looks great. I can't believe how easy and good it looks

wanderlove · 05/06/2020 23:13

Eyelure

I agree it takes the colour very quickly - the pack I used said 5-10 mins and I was shocked how dark they were after 5 mins
