Just noticed this in their Accessories Section made from off cuts of material - Face Covering - I've pre-ordered and hoping I get some good prints.

Do you know of any other chains doing them OP?

SpringerJS · 04/06/2020 08:51

Baukjen is doing them too (but they are fairly ££)

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/06/2020 09:04

Bloody hell the price on that!

CeeceeBloomingdale · 04/06/2020 09:06

Plumo, Hype, Boohoo are all doing them

sansou · 04/06/2020 09:31

£20 for a pack of 3 is not a bad price imo. I’ve been making my own for friends and family and it takes time & effort for the amateur at least.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 04/06/2020 12:31

I got 2 from plumo, made from linen. The Boden ones look nicer though.

MadamFlutterby · 04/06/2020 12:34

I'm making my own. They are really easy to do.

Some people on our local Facebook group are making them and selling for anything from £5 to £20 which I think is outrageous!

I've worked out I can sell mine for £3.00 each .... which i might well do

Zeldaaa · 04/06/2020 14:03

The baukjen ones are pretty cheap, it’s a pack of 5 but you also get 5 more free

Zeldaaa · 04/06/2020 14:05

www.baukjen.com/collections/face-masks/products/5-pack-of-masks-mixed

From the description “ Our masks are sold in packs of 5, including 4 adult masks and 1 for a child up to 10/12 years of age. With every pack bought, we will send you an additional pack of 5 masks, to share with your neighbours.”

I’ve not bought these so don’t know how good they are. I do wish you could pick your print

Lovelydovey · 04/06/2020 14:11

I’ve had two sets of Baukjen masks. Much preferred the prints on the first set to the second. The second set are also printed with “masks for all” though this is relatively discreet. They’re a decent quality but basic mask and at £25 for 10 considerably cheaper than other masks I’ve seen.

albird · 04/06/2020 14:52

mint velvet are doing them too - £8 each.

BoudicasBoudoir · 04/06/2020 15:05

I spotted the Boden ones, and while I like the shape, not sure I would like the prints. Boden prints can be a bit too garish for me.

However, having gone for the more sophisticated linen ones from Plümo, I found they were cut for someone with a much bigger face than me, and definitely a bigger nose. They are a very odd shape.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/06/2020 16:43

My mother made some, she used vintage Liberty prints, which sounds a bit affected, but it's worth is because the fabric is very tightly woven and thin, but strong.

princessbear80 · 04/06/2020 17:32

I have the baukjen ones and am very happy. The child size ones fits my 4 year old perfectly (not that I’m planning anything where he’ll need to wear one, but it’s good to have just in case). I had a good selection of prints. Seem good value, £25 for 10 masks.

IndecentFeminist · 04/06/2020 22:17

Boden ones are a pack of three aren't they?

Usecoooomonsnse · 19/06/2020 19:43

@Lovelydovey The Baukjen ones are £25 for 5 masks not 10

Lovelydovey · 19/06/2020 19:44

They were £25 for a pack of 5, with another 5 free to share (or keep).

Usecoooomonsnse · 19/06/2020 19:47

Apologies just read through the description. Thanks.

I have these. I find they fit much better with a little knot tied in each piece of elastic. Apols if you've already done this Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/06/2020 19:56

Annoying that the Baukjen ones include a child's mask in the set - some of us don't have small children!

I got a couple from White Stuff - really cheap. No longer in stock though. I've made some too, but had to hand sew them and they're not great (although not terrible!).

Toucancan · 19/06/2020 22:01

I've been making face coverings as well - the shapes style. I started out sewing stuff for the NHS scrubs groups but now also sew to get some income. I'm a milliner and swimming teacher pre-lockdown, which are both now on hold for the foreseeable. So now I've added them to my Folksy shop. I can't compete with the chain shops on price though!

I have been making face coverings for friends and family but it is quite time consuming as I make them three layers (as recommended by WHO) and also include an integral nose wire. I did make the simpler pleated versions at one stage as they're a lot faster to sew but didn't get on with the shape for some reason. This is me (also if you ever need a hat btw Grin) folksy.com/shops/SusanneBurgessMillinery
