Gel Nails DIY Advice

Thanks to the wonder that is Mumsnet and YouTube, I've successfully managed to tint my brows and lashes so now would like to nail gel nails!

I know I need an LED lamp rather than UV so just wondering which brand I should be looking at - are they much of a muchness?

How about base/top coats and actual polishes? Again, any particular brand?

Any advice will be most welcome please. I'll save so much money if I get this right although my poor beautician might find her profits are down somewhat!

@Jemimatheragdoll the primer is supposed to help prevent the gel lifting.

Sorry to jump on but I’m looking at these too. Just wondering what’s the difference in results between uv and led lamps? I’m looking at Mylee and UV is quite a bit cheaper? Thanks xx

Blue sky top and base coat was like £9 from Amazon. I'm using shellac nail colour as I like the colour. I worked out my nail habit is £60 a month for gel polish. £720 a year! Also if you do it yourself always paint the hand you write with first, as you can used the other hands nails to wipe the edges if you are over enthusiastic with polish like me ☺️

@Ylark79 what magic gel remover did you buy. Sounds fab but a few different options. Does it work much quicker?
