I need to get my hair silky soft again, any recommendations for overnight hair masks please? I have a toddler so it's easier to wash off in the morning rather than get in the shower twice !

Ive always loved joico k-pak (for damaged hair). Also, recently picked up Pantene repair & protect (it's in a gold tub). A lot cheaper, and I really like it!

Pantene has sulfates though doesn't it, which eventually build up on your hair so that's what I'm
Trying to avoid.

Coco and Eve is amazing. I have long thick hair that goes like straw if not looked after properly. My hair has never been so soft.

The only masks I leave on overnight are the protein based ones (olaplex or elasticiser)

I leave moisturising masks on for a few hours max because I don’t see a difference after leaving it on for longer. I love kerastase masks.

Olaplex

Philip Kingsley the elasticizer

Sulfates don't build up in your hair, silicone does. Silicone is plastic, it is in most conditioners and it coats your hair making it feel smooth. You then need sulfates to wash the silicone away properly and sulfates can cause irritation for some and frizzy hair for others (me!).
I like the Garnier hair food range, they are all silicone free (and sulfate free). I have the banana and the macadamia nut version, both lovely.

Didn't know you were avoiding sulfates. Couldn't tell you if pantene mask has them
or not. They are my two go-to masks, and I use olaplex after bleaching if my hair is weak.

Good luck with your search Smile

An Indian girl I worked with had the shiniest great condition hair. This was her secret:-

Warm up an eggcup full of olive oil (less for short hair)
Massage it through your dry hair
Put a carrier bag around your hair, then wrap a towel around it
Leave for an hour
Shampoo twice, don't condition
Do this once or twice a month

HairBoss (at Superdrug) do a 2-Step Mask .
Doesn't need to be on overnight .

I've used it once , pretty impressed .
