Esprit: does anyone know if their clothing comes up big or small?

Some nice bits and bobs and decent fabrics so I’m planning to order a couple of items as I have a summer dress shaped hole in my wardrobe!

I’m keen not to get sizing wrong as it feels such a hassle to send stuff back at the mo.

I think they’re a Dutch or German brand? Which might suggest they would come up on thd generous side. I’m in between a 10 and 12 depending on fit really. I like a sack dress on there but don’t want it to look like an actual sack! Mind you it would be bad if it looked tight too!

Any experiences with this brand?

I bought a couple of tops from them recently which I would say are true to size. However, a word of caution - I sent one of the tops back and more than a month on I have still to receive a refund. I've spoken to customer services who didn't seem to understand what I was talking about but gave me an email address to send a photo of my post office proof of posting to. All I've received so far is a standard acknowledgement of the email. I've seen other reviews which talk about their poor refund service. I wouldn't buy from them again. Some of their stuff is available at Zalando, who are excellent with returns.

They’re French and I find their sizing small.

it varies but most items have a fitfinder to help you judge size.

I find their sizing generous.

(I'll caveat that with I am not tall - 5'7" - having read mastertomsmum's post).

I have a lot of stuff from them and I definitely find it generous.
(It is not French, it was American and now headquartered in Hong Kong.)

I must’ve thought they were French because I used to buy their stuff in France! Don’t think I’ve seen a shop here, but they sell some things through Next online.

I find jeans are quite big but tops are quite small.

Coming from someone who usually quite the opposite

Just to through a spanner in the works I buy a fair amount from Espirit and find them pretty true to size! I always just buy my normal size.

I'm either a XS or S depending on what fit I am looking for and would tend to go for S in most of their clothes (or size 10).

It can vary by garment - as a previous poster says, there is a fit guide which tells you if it comes up big/small or is true to size.

I've bought (and returned!) loads of stuff with them and never had a problem.

They are true to size, I buy a lot from them. Denim is only worth it in the sale though.

Take your measurements and check them against the Esprit size guide?

I’ve not bought jeans or trousers but have a fair few tops and a coat. I find (depending on style too though)they run small. For example I’m a busty 12 generally but my last Esprit top (fitted style hoodie) was a large. Delivery is slow as are refunds. They get done eventually but do seem to take time.

I’ve only ever bought tops and I’m a 16 and UK large fits fine. Their clothes are great, some stores have concessions.
