I need sandals and have plantar fasciitis

Just that really.

I have wide feet, corns, bunions and plantar fasciitis.

I need some summer shoes/sandals soon or else my hot, fat, sweaty, painful, little feet will be very screaming at me soon.

I can't wear toe posts or high heels, the sandals have to be secure (no mules or 'slides') and look reasonable with opaque black pop socks.

Or, I could wash my feet when I get into work and put on a pair of pop socks.

Due to nature of my job, I have to wear hosiery. Long story.

I'm prepared to pay up to £50 for a half decent pair, or higher if they are they are more than half decent.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Amazon keeps showing me white specialist Crocs 🤯

Birkenstocks or Art Company

Check out the reviews for “revs” online. Specifically for your conditions. Warning - go slowly 🙈

The insoles might be what you need but there may be a style that’s ok. I wear the flip flop version

CoffeeBeansGalore · 28/05/2020 20:06

Have a look at Skechers, especially the ones with memory foam soles.
qvcuk.com have a fair range as a starting point.

RaininSummer · 28/05/2020 20:12

Fit flops. I think they do things which aren't actually flip flops too.

normalpeeps · 28/05/2020 20:17

Clark's are pretty good for comfort, value and style: www.clarks.co.uk/Womens/Sandals/Flat-Sandals/c/w61#page=1&pageSize=72

RoobyMyrtle · 28/05/2020 20:21

Look for Alegria shoes. They have memory foam insoles, are wide fitting and have a rocking soles which feels amazing for plantar

TheletterZ · 28/05/2020 20:26

I have the same problem, love the look of a lot of the Sketchers. Roll on payday!

EwwSprouts · 28/05/2020 20:32

Fit flop are the business for pounding pavements. 20% off first order. Also check Debenhams I got a pair there 50% off in sale. www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/esther-floret-leather-back-strap-sandals-p-W80#090

Gingernaut · 28/05/2020 20:40

Thanks for all suggestions so far.

I'm winding down for bed, so I'm going to have a look tomorrow on the train to work.

These were dreadful for my plantar fasciitis. Made it much worse tbh.

Fit Flops are the best. They've made a huge difference to me.

Powerplant · 28/05/2020 20:44

Clark’s are brilliant and they have an online sale on atm. I have OA and these are the only sandals I can wear. Good luck

Sportycustard · 28/05/2020 21:18

I have PF and I am finding these very comfortable

ExpletiveDelighted · 28/05/2020 21:23

Both Skechers and Crocs made mine much worse.

I found Birkenstocks to be best, with the straps adjusted so they fitted snugly and didn't flap about.

Pikachubaby · 28/05/2020 21:24

Fitflop cova!!!

Merryhobnobs · 28/05/2020 21:26

Sketchers are not good. Fitflops have been reccomended to be by a few people and my physiotherapist. Just not got around to buying a pair yet.

MrsFrTedCrilly · 28/05/2020 21:26

Fit flops were the only thing I could wear when I had PF, lots of styles too

OhTheRoses · 28/05/2020 21:32

Vionics
Josef Siebel sandal type shoes
Easy Spirit

YesThisIsMe · 28/05/2020 21:47

Fit flops if you can find a style that works. Teva are pretty good as well.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/05/2020 21:54

Another vote for Fitflops, if you can find a suitable style (they do more than toe post ones now). Recommended to me by my Podiatrist. Total game changers for my feet

UpperLowercaseSymbolNumber · 28/05/2020 21:56

On PF I think different things work for different people. I found Skechers helped a lot but Birkenstock’s made it worse. But other people find it the other way.

It may be not what you are looking for but I had these Sketchers sandals and they are very comfortable. They adjust 3 places (front of ankle, back of ankle and front of foot) so good for getting a decent fit for wide feet.

Another vote for fit flops! Game changer for me - developed PF after a leg break and multiple surgeries and was in constant pain. Someone recommended fit flops and I’ve never looked back, have several pairs and also fit flop slippers!

SoloMummy · 28/05/2020 22:05

I would lok at hotters sandals. Especially the ones with the velcro straps as they're ideal for varying the tightness.
Often cheaper in sales via Debenhams.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/05/2020 22:08

Birkenstocks work for me. I have horrible PF, and spend most of my time on my feet. I can wear them and brogues. And that’s about it.

Menaimum · 28/05/2020 22:15

Fitflop with the supercush sole.
I go on their site and into the sale and outlet filtering for size and lowest price sorting then choose the cheapest combined with least ugly ones I can bear. They do lots of sandals that aren't toe post and the top strap is very high on the foot giving stability. If you don't mind mens the "ryker" style will come up in the sale in off colours. The other men's sports sandal has a hard sole and hurts so avoid it. I have eee feet and plantar fascitis and wear orthotics in winter shoes. I live in FF all summer If you're looking for a trainer the "rally" is incredibly comfortable.
