Has anyone seen any proper old fashioned style cotton sundresses, full skirt, scoop or sweetheart neckline, midi length and either thick straps or cap sleeves, please?

I’ve seen them in Joe Browns catalogue

Bobbybobbins · 28/05/2020 19:29

I've had a couple from eBay that are Fatface which are that sort of style

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/05/2020 20:06

Thanks. Can't see anything on Fatface. Will look at JB.

Joules might have some

Northernsoullover · 28/05/2020 21:49

Try mountain warehouse. They have lovely dresses

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/05/2020 21:49

Thank you. I'd forgotten about Joules - it's the sort of thing they used to do well, but I think their fabrics have gone downhill a lot recently. There's one on JB I quite like. Will look at Joules now.

I just picked up a couple from Sainsbury’s Online that meet your description - I’d never ordered clothes from them before but the kids needed a few bits and I came across a couple of printed cotton sundresses. Pretty pleased with them for a few pounds!

goldpendant · 28/05/2020 22:06

TOAST. Just splurged and I'm glad I did! Flattering in a way that so many sack/cotton dresses aren't, lovely and comfortable.

Puddlejuice · 28/05/2020 22:10

I've just been to Sainsburys and was absolutely spoiled for choice with cotton sundresses, some had a beautiful retro look.
Didn't go wild though as no changing rooms and a non return policy, but I did pick up an incredibly sweet button up dress with sailing boats, for £10 in the sale.

QueenGoblin · 28/05/2020 22:12

Have you had a look at Lindybop?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/05/2020 23:16

Not really a fan of Lindybop but will have a look.
I looked at Sainsbury's online but could only see spaghetti straps.
I suspect Toast too £££.
Nothing in Joules.

Mythical creatures, those you describe, op

Don't want to say 'crisp white shirt' but....

Bluewavescrashing · 29/05/2020 03:02

Boden have a few in their sale.

peachypetite · 29/05/2020 05:54

Sainsburys but they just had 25% off and don’t think there is much left now online!

OxanaVorontsova · 29/05/2020 06:17

I’ve was searching for cotton summer dresses yesterday and found a lovely one in new look (not the style you are after, it has short sleeves) also tempted by several in Cos, Next, monsoon.

OxanaVorontsova · 29/05/2020 06:27

Mango and H&M also do cotton dresses, not sure they have the right style though

mynamesmrdiggety · 29/05/2020 06:30

Look at sea salt

BeltaneBride · 29/05/2020 08:32

Sounds like M&S. My favourite (that style) every year. If you wait a week there are likely to be massive reductions when the shops re-open.

Foals · 29/05/2020 10:51

Roman Originals have cotton dresses, some that would fit your bill I think. There's a cotton tiered midi vintage style sundress in two colourways, and a turquoise and white one. There's also a white and a turquoise cotton dress which I think is more midaxi length and slightly boho style I think.

portocristo · 29/05/2020 11:17

I’m really loving the white stuff at the moment ordered some lovey swimwear (don’t know where I think I’m going ) but they have lots of lovely dresses and even better 30per cent off everthing

Spotsonmyapples · 29/05/2020 11:23

La Reroute have some midi with thicker straps, also some with sleeves to above elbow.

Spotsonmyapples · 29/05/2020 11:23

La Redoute* sorry
