Sun-dried hair - the cure?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I've been out in the sun for a few days.

Now my hair is like straw, despite using conditioner when washing etc. What should I do?

Should I just slather it in oil for the times I'm sunbathing*? I don't particularly want it to be greasy though.

  • I don't want to put a scarf on or a hat that comes slides off (faff) and anyway my hair is mid-length. I could put a turban on but then I'd look like something out of an Agatha Christie drama.

I wouldn't put oil on, that'll just make it fry surely? Could try a leave in conditioner maybe.

You could get something moisturising Wight uv protection - I use this m.bumbleandbumble.co.uk/product/19055/31247/style/pre-stylers/hairdressers-invisible-oil-heatuv-protective-primer#/sku/56305

Wear a hat, trim the ends, that really is the only way.

Leave coconut oil in overnight.

Is it coloured/bleached too?

If you don't wear a hat or scarf to protect it from the sun for a while then it's only going to get worse. (possibly much worse).

Thanks all!

Yes, my hair has some colour in it.

It sounds like I may need to wear a scarf on my head then.

I think I'll look a bit bizarre on the beach, but hey, no more than usual!

To add:

I've just gone and bought a couple of wide-brim folding sun hats off Amazon. Hopefully that will do the trick!
