Comfortable shorts

I’ve recently started wearing shorts again after many years not doing so. I’ve got a couple of pairs of denim shorts, jeans style, but I’d like something softer and more comfortable for lounging around in. Perhaps chinos or cargo pants style, or something even softer. Am a size 10-12 and not very well off, and I prefer my shorts longish. Any ideas?

Hon about some high waisted paper bag ones? They have a loose leg and tie belt with all round elastic are's waist, like a short culotte. Or you could try some jersey ones. Paper bag around £10 and jersey £5 from supermarkets clothes range. I think shorter shorts are surprisingly more flattering than long ones. The most comfy ones I have like a crinkly cotton with a all round shirred waist from peacocks many years ago and they are the holy grail of comfort- ever found a similar style since!

Gap has good shorts, and there’s always a discount code floating about.

Asda have some soft linen ones - all different lengths and really comfy (and cheap)
