Chunky sandals but not sporty

Can anyone please recommend some sandals/brands that are comfortable, chunky sole (saltwater too flat) but that aren't hiking sandals. Preferably not black.

I like the ones attached but they are too expensive (£110).

Birkenstocks. I have a few pairs of their sandals and they are very comfortable and chunky.

Waitingfortheothershoe · 27/05/2020 19:33

I think the first might be too high for me. Might have given them a try 20 years ago!

Do Birkenstocks feel a bit flip-floppy? That has always put me off.

These?

DaisyChainsForever · 27/05/2020 20:53

Fitflops

CognativeDissonance · 27/05/2020 20:53

Well that was a fail.

I've had a couple of pairs of these Dune ones and they are so comfy and look fab. Just noticed they have 30% off everything so I may have to take a little look myself Grin.

@CognativeDissonance those animal ones are amazing.

Gillybobs · 27/05/2020 21:18

I've just ordered these from Kin at John Lewis, they have a few similar styles and 30% off just now

@tinkerbellla I'd consider them for myself if they had them in my size!

Waitingfortheothershoe · 27/05/2020 22:17

Lots to check out thank you!

Gutted they only have those animal print ones in size 3. They are fabulous.

I definitely recommend the Birkenstock Mayari. I get a couple of pairs of them every year in different colours because they are really comfortable and they don't flip flop at all.

mrslebon · 27/05/2020 23:13

Grensons? ASOS stock them.

Ninkanink · 27/05/2020 23:16

Firflops. Especially in the outlet section or when they’re doing their discounts/further reductions.

Might be worth a look now actually as they probably have a sale on for summer.

Art company, I know there's some heels on this page but there plenty of chunky flats too.

ProseccoSupernova · 28/05/2020 06:55

These keep popping up on my Facebook and I am tempted: www.modainpelle.com/sandals-c29/flat-sandals-c50/sh-nala-black-leather-p8181

Take a look at Dr Marten sandals, they tick all your boxes. Sorry I can't do links.

Fly London are good for chunky sandals.

CockCarousel · 28/05/2020 08:30

If you're worried about Birkenstocks flip-flopping, they do a couple of proper sandals. Tulum for example.

I bought an almost identical pair from Toms last year too, but haven't looked at their current shoes.

I love those Art company sandals! Had never heard of them before.

ProseccoSupernova · 28/05/2020 10:02

heartzone oops sorry! I think I may join you. Never bought from them before but price seems good.

Waitingfortheothershoe · 30/05/2020 14:24

Fantastic! I've gone from not finding any to struggling to choose as there are several I like. Thank you
