I’ve always used the ultra sun face one SPF 30 but I’m looking for something new no budget please give your honest opinion on what you use and importantly how well it sinks into your skin.

I use Heliocare 360 fluid cream all year but now that I’ve bumped this thread along someone will come on and say they really don’t like it which is fine as it’s very personal.
I’m fair and have freckles that merge in summer so my likes are:
Good protection that controls my freckles;
Sinks in and leaves a matte finish;
Can be worn under foundation;
Has a tint so I can use it as a CC cream too;
Lasts ages
Downside:
I recommended to a friend who was horrified that it smells of peach schnapps. It does but I genuinely hadn’t noticed.

I use Ultrasun face fluid with 50spf. There is a tinted version which I use instead of foundation. I find it sinks in well and lasts all day.

Epionce factor 50 tinted moisturiser ..love it

quirkychick · 26/05/2020 17:11

Neutrogena Age Shield, I have the SPF100 but I think they do SPF50. It's white but sinks in well, is matt and has no smell. I'm fair skinned with a few moles.

Jedstre · 26/05/2020 19:24

I’m oily so my requirements are a good broad spectrum SPF50 that won’t make me more oily during the day.

My favourites are
Heliocare gel
La Roche posay dry touch gel cream
Biore aqua rich watery essence or Biore bright milk (Both eBay from Japan so takes a few weeks)

IdblowJonSnow · 26/05/2020 19:26

Bloody love peach schnapps, sold!

barfotoliv · 26/05/2020 19:29

I've just got the heliocare gel but I've been left disappointed as it pills. Prior to that I was using Lá Roche Posay Shaka Fluid which I was very happy with. Currently waiting on an order of Biore Watery Essence, which has been recommended by friends. If it disappoints it will be back to the shaka fluid and lesson learned!

I need SPF50 and gave tried a few over the years - faves until recently were la Roche posay and biore watery essence. However I recently bought Lagom cellos sun gel because Lisa Eldridge mentioned it and I bloody love it. It’s like a better version of the biore - light, non-greasy and no colour at all but also feels like an actual moisturiser, a bit richer somehow.

Lurkingforawhile · 27/05/2020 22:42

I use Superdrug own brand facial sunscreen. They do 30 or 50spf in normal or sensitive. It’s lovely and moisturising

TeddyIsaHe · 27/05/2020 22:47

Biore watery essence all the way. Sits really well under makeup, doesn’t pill, doesn’t break me out. Only downside is it takes weeks to arrive so you have to plan ahead for when you’re running out.

I get mine from YesStyle

MadamNoo · 27/05/2020 22:49

I just ordered Saltee because Sali Hughes said so at the weekend but can’t give my own verdict yet!

mummykauli7 · 27/05/2020 22:49

The Ordinary spf30. Wouldn't recommend using on its own but its amazing under makeup!!

Immigrantsong · 27/05/2020 22:51

Anything from la roche posay. Especially the shake one.

princessbear80 · 28/05/2020 07:41

I use Altruist SPF 50 all year round. Sinks in great. Available from amazon. It’s about £8 for two big tubes. Also use it on my DS, and my OH has started using it too.

RD15 · 28/05/2020 08:08

Heliocare oil free gel - I love it. Unlike the PP, I’ve never had any problems with it pilling and I wear it under make up. I also used the tinted version on holiday and I loved it.

Deathraystare · 05/06/2020 11:10

I wasn't aware you could get something 100SPF I thought 50 was the ultimate???

JessicaDay · 05/06/2020 12:43

Any of the Soleil Toujours sprays. Spray them onto my hands first then apply. Totally invisible, non sticky after first few minutes drying.
