What shampoo do you use to get your natural highlights to shine/look brighter?

My favourite was discontinued a while back, I stockpiled and it is now running out - Boots Natural Collection chamomile ☹️.

Now looking for a replacement.....my hair is dark blonde with lighter natural streaks which get blonder in the summer.

You sound like me, although I actually stared with highlights last summer.
Prior to this my hair had never been coloured, and I always used either kerastase for unruly hair, or the Toni & guy labelM purple shampoo.

The t&g always made my hair less brassy and fresh looking, like midsummer. There are more expensive purple shampoos but they did t feel much different to me.

Bear in mind I am referring to before I had highlights.

I also recommend this:

I have the above Kerastase shampoo too. I really like it but I find it quite drying

Following as I've tried loads of these shampoos and never found one that actually makes a difference..

I like these ones

Touch of Silver is good every now and again.

Also Sheer Blonde shampoo and conditioner.

Weirdly I found the one that worked the best was a medicated dandruff shampoo called Selsun which has now been discontinued, but you could try something like Nizoral. They both brightened the hair more than anything - I think because they stripped everything away.

Also, the usual lemon juice etc.

Fudge purple shampoo is your friend

I love the John Frieda blonde range

I like John Frieda Go Lighter, it makes light my blonde hair look sun kissed. I've never got on with the purple ones, they actually make it go purple!

GlassOfProsecco · 23/05/2020 22:59

I previously used the John Frieda Blonde shampoo but have moved to the Lidl version (costs about £1) & don't notice any difference.

Ooh that's exciting Prosecco. I've often looked at it but never bought it.
