Skin care n00b...

Hi all,

At 35 I've decided I probably need to take care of my face a bit more. I have relatively oily skin/t zone which has put me off before as everything makes me break out it seems! I have a few horizontal forehead lines which don't massively bother me but they're only going to get worse I guess...

My current "routine" is wash face (with soap, but nice one with no palm oil or sulphates) and moisturiser with simple moisturiser with spf 30.

I've recently added niacimide (sp?) which purports to reduce oilyness but no change yet, and have ordered some very low dose retinol by Inkey List.

Any suggestions/advice? I mostly just want healthy skin, but reduced lines and shine would be ace!! TIA

I'm not all that knowledgeable but I recently started with more than just my moisturiser.
I use a micellar water followed by a toner.
I ordered from cult beauty and got 'the ordinary' vitamin c and q10 (think thats inkey list)

I find all the vitamin x stuff so confusing.... what is good for what?? I know you can do "recipe builders" on the ordinary and inkey list but I'm not going to jump from where I am to spending >£50 on products and I don't understand it enough to know which to pick out by itself if that makes sense... hence going with mild retinol as it seems broadly accepted it at least does do something for most people!

What is vit C for if you don't mind me asking?

It's this one. I got advice after a facial I had prior to lockdown.
