Liquid collagen for hair/nail growth?

millionaireshortie · 22/05/2020 07:48

Do any of you use liquid collagen? Wondered if there's a quality brand in the UK? Lots of US instagrammers are showing good results for hair growth and skin. Does it work as well as they say it does?!

I drink skin aid every day. Hair and nails are best they have ever been. It's expensive but so worth it.

It’s just protein though, you lose control of what your body does to it when you consume it.

If you need a bit of ligament repairing it won’t know not to use the collagen tablet amino acids for that purpose.

So you might end up fat?

clumsyduck · 22/05/2020 08:55

No I think they meant you won’t specifically know how the collagen will actually distribute in your body kind of thing

Decent hair skin and nails vits and a decent diet should prob have the same effect

I take these, two a day and my nails got really strong & hair is great too. I’ve been taking them for 2 years. If I stop my nails get weak again.

Bugged I am taking the powder which is supposed to be much stronger and I notice no difference. I wonder if the liquid form is better?

I've been taking liquid collagen for 3 weeks now. I haven't noticed any real difference yet but it's early days. I'm willing to try for a few months to see if there's any benefit. I already have a healthy diet but at age 50, I am constantly getting injuries when exercising due to my ageing body. My physio suggested trying a collagen supplement.

This is UK based and not as expensive as some of the other liquid collagens on the market:

I'm on my 3rd bottle of these. Most noticeable in my nails. My skin is really clear but have upped my skincare so unsure which is having the bigger effect. www.cultbeauty.co.uk/solgar-skin-nails-hair-formula-tablets.html

I tried the powder, it was nowhere near as good as the pills I take. They work for me and are reasonably priced.
