Vogue - anyone else gripped

by the memoir of Andre Leon Talley who it seems enjoyed being part of the inner circle but is now very disapproving of it as he has been kicked out.

And at UK vogue the interesting way Edward Enniful has managed to be so dismissive of Alexandra Shulman.

I am a long time vogue reader/subscriber and must say I feel the UK edition doesn't appeal to me so much any more - maybe an age thing I don't know.

But anyway, I am quite enjoying the drama in lockdown.

I think she's right fashion magazines actually most magazines are no longer relevant.

One of my relatives buys loads and then passes them onto me I used to love receiving plastic bags full of different fashion magazines now I just throw them in the recycling bin. I'm not sure though when this change happened or exactly why, I do remember noticing that there was less and less content and more adverts.

Now I think about it, I do miss More Dash than Cash. And the Golden Age of Mags, when they created a delicious fantasy of glam and art and prettiness where you could always Do One Thing.

Oscar Wilde edited Women's Own, but he was a true Vogue Girl. Wit, chic and all the other types of stardust are woefully lacking in the earnest daftness of rich wokies.

I guess I also preferred magazines before I really understood how PR etc worked.

I am just too cynical nowadays.

I have never been able to take Alexandra Shulman seriously as a fashion journalist anyway.

I mean how can any Vogue editor, past or present, really be plugging swamp green jelly shoes with Pat Butcher earrings stuck on them?! Seriously?!
