Can anyone find me sone closed toe sandals?

I'm very much comfort first which means I really struggle to find shoes to go with summer clothes. I'm also a runner with manky toenails!

So I want something flat, but not completely unsupportive, to wear casually with dresses or floaty trousers but that covers my toes. Does it exist?

Watching as haven't seen any decent closed toe sandals at all. I'll be wearing trainers or Toms all summer!

I never understand why there's not more choice of closed toe styles? A lot of people either need them for work or like me, have had toenail ops and refuse to get their feet out in public Grin

Swiftier · 21/05/2020 11:51

Ha I feel your pain! I run a lot and always have black and blue toenails Blush Despite having trainers fitted etc.

In summer I wear espadrilles, or mules or sling backs - more shoes than sandals but still feel summery and go with summery outfits. I’ve seen closed toe clogs around too. But following with interest!

Josef Seibel have quite a few. They're not quite my thing, style wise, but they are super comfy!

Menorcan sandals fit the brief and are seriously comfortable.

thenightsky · 21/05/2020 12:17

I have the same issue (vile runner's nails) and I just buy cheap canvas slip ons or lace ups from Tesco each year. I tried some seasalt closed toe, but strap around the back ones last year, but they were expensive and not very comfy at all.

Magpiecomplex · 21/05/2020 13:46

How wide do those come out, Client?

ClientQ · 21/05/2020 13:57

@Magpiecomplex they give quite a lot, I actually sized down

Magpiecomplex · 21/05/2020 14:01

Thank you. Now to persuade myself I don't need another pair of sandals! Wink

LulusMiniEgg · 21/05/2020 14:03

I LOVE Palmairas! I treat myself to at least one or two new colours a year

ElspethFlashman · 21/05/2020 14:50

I immediately thought of Menorcan ones, the absolutely business for hiding toes without looking like you're hiding toes!

I used to have a pair from Avarcas or something like that.

Richlyfruited · 21/05/2020 14:59

That's exactly what I'm looking for @Baboutheocelot but alas they're sold out in most sizes Sad

Palmairas would also be the perfect option but I've tried them and just don't find them comfortable!

Richlyfruited · 21/05/2020 15:20

I did however order these which look perfect - thanks for the ASOS suggestion! www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-monica-leather-woven-flat-shoes-in-tan/prd/14167022?CTARef=Bag+Item+Image

Look at Wolky
www.wolkyshop.co.uk/.

They are a bit pricy but they are great quality and hard wearing!

CarrieMoonbeams · 21/05/2020 18:27

I'm a wee bit late I think, but in case anyone else is looking for similar, I bought these Caterpillar ones:

www.onbuy.com/gb/uk-3-sunny-brown-ladies-caterpillar-casual-sandals-anders~c6125~p10829864/?exta=gshp&stat=eyJpcCI6IjM5LjAwIiwiZHAiOjAsImxpZCI6IjE1MTE4MzI2IiwicyI6IjEwIiwidCI6MTU4OTQ2NzE4NCwiYm1jIjoiMC4wIn0=&lid=15118326&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzZj2BRDVARIsABs3l9JZ4289_YD2XNw3m1H0QqE2BH5r4yHPOixhesoLepbIai6RZk04klsaApDLEALw_wcB

Not sure if that link will work, I'm new so haven't quite sussed everything out yet. They were about £38 or so from eBay. Maybe not quite as closed toe as I would have liked, but I need shoes that aren't completely flat, and these are pretty good.

ElspethFlashman · 21/05/2020 18:43

Solillas is the brand doing Menorcan ones on ASOS. Free returns!

MikeUniformMike · 21/05/2020 19:16

I came on to suggest Josef Seibel.

I have palmairas that don't show my toes but they aren't all that supportive.

Waferbiscuit · 22/05/2020 18:16

These Clarks t-bar shoes are great for summer. Closed at front and back, so no worries about status of pedicure, but open and look great with a dress or leggings. Comes in black and a coppery colour. I have 3 pairs - v comfortable too!

@ClientQ love those

Happyrascalsmummy · 22/05/2020 19:01

I've had a pair similar to these www.newlook.com/uk/womens/footwear/shoes/sandals/tan-leather-look-woven-caged-sandals/p/639477018
every summer for the last few years. The gaps are small enough that ugly toe nails can't be noticed through them.

BoudicasBoudoir · 22/05/2020 22:32

These might work?
