Anyone done a foot peel that never peeled?

Did this last year and within a week I was amazed at how much skin came off. However did it again about 10 days ago and nothing.

What is the best brand for this? My heels are a grey flaky mess and it’s mortifiying.

Funny you should ask. I did a footner one about 3 weeks ago. Left it on for an hour and then rinsed as per instructions. Waited 3 weeks and nothing. Tiny bits of flaky skin but certainly nothing like I've seen photos of. £10 wasted.

Tonight I've done a mooi Poundland one. I've just taken them off left it on for 1 hour 50 mins. It said 1 hour 30 mins so thought I would give it a bit longer. Not washed my feet just patted them with a towel as per instructions.

Now got a pair of socks on. Will wear socks and shoes for next week to see if it helps. Last time I didn't i wore flip flops and sandals. Hoping having sweaty feet might help?

Fingers crossed that you get some shedding soon

There are so many of them I have no idea which brands I’ve used, but I know the first one was given to me in a gift. The second was one of amazons recommendations.

I wonder if they are less effective each time.

You need to soak your feet as much as possible. Before you put the mask on, then as soon as you take it off, and every day. That makes then peel more. My heels also really bad and very cracked as well which can be sore. Can’t find a foot peel anywhere at the mo so got this roll on cream called flexitol, only been using it a week and has made such a difference already.

There was a woman on here not too long ago who ended up with cracks all over her feet, like wounds. Took ages to heal.

I'd tread carefully.

CatherineCawood · 20/05/2020 23:09

I didn't know you had to soak them before. 2 hours too late now! Gah!

I'll soak them tomorrow and every day after for a week and see what happens.

Palmtree76 · 20/05/2020 23:09

I did a Beautypie one. After a week or so nothing happened. Then I had a bath after a long run and it was like I had trenchfoot! The skin was falling off my feet and it was everywhere. Nothing solved it and I had to just pick off as much as I could and keep socks on until they’d returned to normal. I won’t be doing it again!!!!

Soak your feet everyday till they go wrinkly. That helps.

QOD · 20/05/2020 23:15

I’m terrible. If I use one I leave it in for hours

ThrowbackMagic · 20/05/2020 23:15

This happened to me. Bought one from a bargain store and got some very light bits of peeling but not the real deal. Taking frequent soaks on the bath too. Feet look all rough and grey now (about a month on) but didn’t get that proper money shot moment of ribbons of skin hanging off. Grin

MayBeau Foot Mask from Amazon for a pack of 2. Works really well.

Sadie789 · 20/05/2020 23:49

Will try that @Greengrapes1357

The time it worked for me I didn’t soak my feet but I will try it this time and see if it helps.

Go for a run in trainers, but no socks. It has the same effect as soaking. Beware though, it's quite dramatic.

Pugsley87 · 21/05/2020 07:27

Soaking before for at least 90mins is essential I find. Then a good soak daily thereafter (a nice soak in the bath on day 2 really kicks it off!) I have tried the Poundland type with some effect, but for the really dramatic peeling I swear by the Babyfoot Peel.

EmpressJewel · 21/05/2020 07:46

I did one that didn't work. I think it was because I had been using a foot file regularly in the days prior to using the peel and so there probably wasn't enough skin that needed to peel.'

Well, that's my theory.
