Basic beauty treats

Long story short.

At the weekend I realised I weighed more than my husband which has very firmly kicked me into losing weight. I have 30 pounds to go and I plan to reward myself every 5 pounds with an upgraded version of a beauty item I would use most days.

But I need ideas. I’m very middle of the road with my beauty spends (mostly Maybelline, benefit, the ordinary)

I don’t want to buy things just because they’re expensive, I want them to be good too.

I’m not great with make-up so I’m not even certain what I want (although I love the look of this Bobbi brown eyeshadow stick www.lookfantastic.combobbi-brown-summer-glow-collection-dusty-mauve-malted-pink-eyeshadow/12491587.html )

I think I’m ok for primer, brows & mascara (all benefit) although I’ve been reading how purple mascara is good for green eyes and been looking at this urban decay one (www.lookfantastic.com//urban-decay-double-team-special-effect-coloured-mascara-vice-2-x-4ml/11749713.html )

I want stuff I’ll use in an everyday look (I’m a SAHM of a 3 & 6 year old) so no bronzer or highlighter!

I’m pale, with green eyes & dark hair.

So what is worth spending on??

Too faced is a fab brand for eyeshadow, I own multiple palettes from them.
Ysl all hours or Ester Lauder double wear foundation.
NARS climax mascara is very good, but it only comes in black.

Anastasia is my reward eyeshadow palette - very soft and blendable, and several palettes have normal everyday colours.

Some nice skincare?

Invest in a really good SPF - long term it will be as good as loosing weight. There’s some good recommendation threads on here.
Also maybe a luxury scrub...I love the Neom happy one. Smells lush and skin feels fab after.
