UV gel nail help?

I have a cheapy UV light and some £1 gel polish from ebay, I know, how could I possibly be having issues haha.

My issue is, when I use the polish it seems to pool around the tips of my nails and leave a slightly thinner dark patchy gap just under where my nails grow past the nail bed.

Should I be doing more coats, I do 2-3, use a builder gel to create a more even surface or should I bite the bullet and buy some real gel polishes?

I use the Bluesky ones from Amazon and have good results with base coat, two coats of colour and a top coat.

It sounds as if your polish is no good/not shaken or you're applying two much. You need to apply thin coats - the first often covers poorly, but resist the temptation to apply more. It evens out as you apply more coats. I fine some colours need an extra coat, but usually the second coat covers well.

I'll have a look for bluesky, I think that's the brand my base and top coat are, I think you're right about using to much, I try to be sparing but it ends up puckering away from the edges (probably from low quality) so end up having to apply more to push it around to try to avoid bumps. Thank you
