I was so looking forward to doing this but obviously it’s all up in the air. We hadn’t booked a venue either so it might end up being very different to what we were talking about 🤔

I think my height might be a problem. I’m 5’3 and really cannot walk in heels.

I have bad acne on my back so backless is a no go. I’d prefer sleeves too.

I’m a size 8 but look very young (round cheeks!) so do not want to look like I’m making my First Holy Communion.

Really not keen on most short dresses...

Any ideas?

Hello OP, first congratulations on your forthcoming wedding. I’m in a similar boat to you - engaged in the new year and was planning a November 2020 wedding...I’m still planning it but appreciate it may not go ahead at all or will be on a smaller scale. My budget for dress is £500 as I’m looking at second hand. I was planning to dress shop over Easter and had so many lovely shopping sessions planned in with different friends and family. I’ve not tried any styles on and am not too sure what will suit me now as an older (mid-40s) bride. Like you, I’m 5-3 but a size 12/14 with big boobs/bum/hips. I’m quite curvy and fancy a fish tail but having never tried one on I have no idea what would suit me. My fiancé isn’t super tall so I’m planning on wearing flat shoes. I’m going to check out my ‘go-to’ place for snacking second hand gowns for you (Still White - if you haven’t looked on there yet it’s fab although I appreciate you might prefer a new dress). I’ve got so many in my wish list but don’t know what suits me yet... I had a few appointments booked at a second hand wedding dress places and until I’ve tried on some different styles I’m not planning on buying anything online.
