Home Hair Dye ADVICE NEEDED please

Hi, DD wants hair like Emma Chamberlain brown on top and blond underneath Emma

DD has ash brown hair now untouched & natural. Can someone give me advice on how to colour the underneath blonde? Not too brassy and no orange hint at all wanted.

I'd love some advice before I potentially mess up this huge task #stayingathomechallenge!

there are some tips here, Use purple shampoo once you have dyed it to stop it looking brassy and to stop any undertones coming through. Good luck!

thanks sleepismysuperpower1

I'm pretty nervous about it

As someone who's had her fair share of home hair dyeing experiences (a mix of good and bad!) I'd say play it safe and wait until a pro can do it. They will know what products and techniques to use and how to protect DD's hair before, during and after colouring.

SunKissed89 - yes, I am considering that strongly..... if DD doesn't wear me down first.

I'm still getting pressured to do this at home now. Any further guidance on dyeing ash brown hair to blonde?

How old is DD? Going dark to light is very risky to do and needs to be done gradually. If she is starting to wear you down I'd say to either show her pics of home dyeing gone wrong or maybe get in touch with a local hairdresser online. Some salons will still be connectable via Facebook etc so you could get some pro advice there if you're eventually pushed to breaking point!

thanks. She's 13..... I've been trying to get her to do a rinse of a red or purple instead but she's not budging.

Honestly, that looks a bit of a disaster in the hands of a professional, least of all a mum having a go at playing with bleach!
