Nice pyjamas

I know this might not be an especially exciting topic, but I'm in serious need of some decent pyjamas.

I usually wear vests with long bottoms in the evening or on lazy days, but then change into shorts for bed.
I'm not overly keen on long sleeves, and prefer vests over t shirt.
I don't mind if they're button up tops

So, if you had £50-£100 to spend on some lovely, comfy, pretty pyjamas, what would you choose?

@MsSquiz, as promised! Excuse the face, I look a right state today Grin so this is my size 14 Cyberjammies. This style do gape a bit at the chest but are in no way stretched across the bust. As you can see, they're a bit long but not too bad over slippers. Hope it helps haha

lotusbell · 16/05/2020 19:55

Those Jogsaw ones are gorgeous!

lotusbell · 16/05/2020 19:56

Dear me, Jigsaw, not Jogsaw!

NameChange84 · 16/05/2020 19:58

I wear Ted Baker and Autograph by Rosie.

MsSquiz · 16/05/2020 20:04

@lotusbell thank you so much! I just told DH that a lady on the internet was sending me a photo of her in pyjamas and I think he thinks I've lost it! Grin love the pattern on them too.
I don't even know what bra size I am any more after having DD in Dec & breastfeeding til March! I might get the 14 and use them as my inspiration to lose some weight if they're too snug

I'm always searching for the perfect pjs so this thread is great! I have got White Company long trousers with cami top. Lovely and soft and the top is really flattering but the bottoms are ridiculously long on me (I'm 5ft). I keep getting ads on Facebook for the D&D pjs but not sure about splashing out so much, plus I imagine I'd have the same length issue?

MsSquiz · 16/05/2020 20:28

@TooMinty it's so awkward having little legs! I'm not keen on cuffed pj bottoms so I'm always guaranteed to trip myself up in long flappy bottoms!
DH bought me some at Christmas with leggings style bottoms, but I like something looser after wearing leggings or skinny jeans during the day.
I also find that petite fit clothes (not just pjs) are smaller fitting, so still don't help, because I get the right length but need to size up - it's a mine field!

Ha, no worries, it always helps to see someone wearing stuff to get an idea. These have pockets too, which are always a winner for me.
To be honest, I've only ever bought in the sale, I'm not sure I'd spend £48 on them, but then I'd struggle to justify paying that much on any pjs, never mind the Jigsaw or D&D ones.
Happy shopping!

lotusbell · 16/05/2020 20:36

Yes, I always find Petite ranges aren't that great and a lot of the time, still too long! I've got short legs but a 'regular' ish length torso. Short arms too. Not many donpetite pyjamas either, but I don't mind the cuffed trousers too much.
I work in a warehouse so need work trousers - those cargo style ones, thick hard wearing fabric. Absolute nightmare to find! I feel your pain ladies!

TooMinty · 16/05/2020 20:38

Yeah, my White Company ones are death trap length! I don't mind cuffed if the fabric is soft though. I usually buy ones described as "cropped" or 3/4 length and they are full length on me!

This was asked the other day and I recommended British Boxer pyjamas.

Pricey but lovely.

Levithecat · 17/05/2020 22:38

Is anyone able to refer a friend for me for Desmond and Dempsey? Thank you!

Levithecat · 17/05/2020 22:41

@Swiftier I have DM’d you!

joles12 · 31/05/2020 18:29

Look at PJoys pyjamas, they do have long sleeves. They are absolutely beautiful designed by artists, fabulous quality , feel truly luxurious to wear- definitely all day attire ! They even have matching eye masks if you need
If you aren’t already convinced - it’s a social enterprise that supports mental health .
What’s not to love! PS I don’t work for them or get commission - nut I do have two pairs!

indecisivewoman81 · 31/05/2020 18:33

I love PJs my favourite pair recently were from Pour Moi and are pure cotton. Lovely

MacBlank · 31/05/2020 20:27

Here comes the sensible man!

If.you find him, let me know!

Anyways, go to Primark, get their "top" range of bottoms, and any vests, and then keep the rest for a few nice bottles of wine!

MacBlank · 31/05/2020 20:32

Personally speaking, I wear jogging style shorts around the house, and full length joggers in winter.

The last pair.of PJs I wore, was in hospital about 20+ years ago. I'd forgotten to.take anything with me, and even tho it was an all male ward, the nurses weren't happy with me walking around in just boxer shorts!... They were the nice tight ones with lycra 😜

So they insisted I wear hospital PJs 😭 my god, I'm still getting static shock from those nylon badboys all these years later. Apart from that incidence that previous PJs were back in my youth back in 1985.

Usecoooomonsnse · 31/05/2020 21:05

Try Cyberjammies or Cotton Real. Sometimes on offer at BrandAlley or SecretSales

MsSquiz · 13/07/2020 22:39

Just resurrecting my old thread to say thank you to @lotusbell for the Cyberjammies recommendation!

It was my birthday yesterday and I got 3 (mix and match) pairs! Nothing better than new pyjamas and clean bedding!

Thank you lovely! Grin

I love Fat Face pyjamas. The bottoms are adjustable length which is great for me because I’m tall. And you can get matching bottoms and shorts. I do the same as you. I like long trousers for lounging in but shorts in bed.

lotusbell · 14/07/2020 07:49

@MsSquiz, glad you found some you like and happy birthday for Sunday!

fizzpopbang123 · 14/07/2020 09:12

MsSquiz glad you found some you liked and as a birthday treat, how lovely!

Glad you resurrected this thread, because I was seduced by Desmond and Dempsey, having never heard of them. Wasn't overly impressed. Ordered a cami top and shorts set, and it has shrunk and faded a bit first wash. Still looks fine and wearable but disappointed they look worn so quickly.

I had more success with a Sunspel cami/shorts set in their sale which is brilliant, and some Toast pyjamas. Both still pricey even in sale, but the cotton is amazing quality.

smileannie · 16/07/2020 10:09

I’ve bought two pairs of these for myself and some for friends. They are gorgeous, feel lovely to wear and look at lot more expensive and luxurious than you might expect for the price. Highly recommend.

Nice pyjamas
