Who has nailed the Air Wrap?

I went for it about a month ago but am struggling. Shoulder length, poker straight hair.
The soft smoothing brush makes my hair very flat, the curling brush and the barrels work well but after 20 minutes any movement has fallen out.
I’ve watched so many YouTube videos but the users don’t seem to have the same issues or they’re lying.
Any experts out there can point me in the right direction?

I have very long fine hair and have to use the barrels when my hair is exactly the right degree of dampness - it then seems to lock in the curl really well and it lasts for ages. If my hair is too dry, I have the problem you're describing. I haven't used the brushes enough to comment but I love the dryer.

Thanks @Lily193, do you rough dry first or go straight in with the barrels?

I dry first - probably about 70% dry seems to work best for me as it dries quite quickly from there using the barrel. If it's too wet, I have to hold the hair in place too long and I start to imagine it's going to burn. I have to start with freshly washed hair though. I've tried wetting it with a spray but that's totally useless. It was such a pain in the ass at first trying to get it right when I knew I could just use a wand and get the same effect in about 5 mins!

Thanks, I'll try again with damper hair. Hopefully that's what I'm doing wrong.

I’ve pretty much given up with mine. I even went to the Dyson Oxford Street showroom for a demo wash and blow dry with one of their staff and even though it stayed in slightly longer than when I did it myself , it had still dropped out within a couple of hours.

I have fairly straight shoulder length hair and use products to keep the curls. Frizz prevention beforehand and I always hair spray afterwards. The instagrammers I’ve watched all seemed to use some product in their demo..
