Temporary root coverup for light red hair

Can anyone recommend a wash-out powder or spray for covering the white roots in my light red hair? I'm nearly finishing the now defunct Baptiste powder for light brown hair which matched okay but I haven't managed to find a suitable replacement. I have tried the Charles Worthington root spray in light brown but it is too dark and the wrong tone.

It's been 9 weeks since my last hair appointment and so you can imagine what my roots look like! Any help would be much appreciated.

I use the Color Wow powder in a red shade, it’s the best I’ve found to date www.lookfantastic.com/color-wow-root-cover-up-red-2.1g/11310089.html

I meant to add it’s covering my horrific roots pretty well at the moment - it’s also 8 weeks since my last hairdresser appointment.

Thank you for the link. It's more than I was planning to spend initially but as time goes on, I don't mind what it costs! I'll give that a go.

There seems to be quite a range of affordable products in the US aimed at red hair but not in the UK.

I thought the same re the cost, but it’s highly pigmented so does last for ages.

I cannot remember the make (I wanted to cover up golden brown. I did not like the powder. Although it covered, my head is always itchy and in the warm weather rather sweaty so when I scratched my head I had 'digging up potatoes' stain under my nails!

Of course that may not be your problem (you dye would be red for a start! But I hated the feel of it. It felt 'dirty'. But don't let me put you off!

I'm a dyed redhead, naturally dark but greying, and was due to get my roots done just as lockdown started. My order of hairdye arrived yesterday and is getting applied later, I'm done with the roots

@StatisticallyChallenged What make of hairdye did you go for?

@Deathraystare I do end up with dirty fingernails but it is a small price to pay for not having the white stripe!

I use Wella salon dyes - Koleston on my roots (greys and lightening!), matching colour touch to top up the lengths. I managed to get it done yesterday and cut myself a side fringe so now I don't have to look at my roots, my forehead lines, or my ugliest eyebrow on zoom calls!

You're much braver than me! I might try the dye but definitely not the haircut. Sounds lovely though...

I'd been debating it anyway, my hair has beem gradually growing long again after a bad bob so it seemed like a good time to give it a go. When it's short the fringe doesn't work but longer my face seems to need it
