Green correcting primer/make up

I can see from zoom meetings I tend towards the red in complexion even though in real life I don't see it much, unless I eat spicy stuff etc. I have just got myself ready for a zoom work meeting. Decided to change the lighting, put laptop higher, applied make up. But still red. Even with the filter thing I just discovered. My DH has confirmed I don't look red in RL.

So, as an experiment I want to try one of those green primers under make up. Can I have your recommends please.

Pretty sure nyx does a good range of colour correctors in a cream based stick, I know there are powder based correctors but I haven't tried ever tried them

Mascotte · 13/05/2020 09:05

Revolution do some good ones that are really cheap. There's also a green powder that's good for emergency cover 😃

I use this.. it’s marvellous.

YSL do a good one, currently using the Rimmel one though as I ran out and my supermarket sells Rimmel

The Eborian one gets rave reviews. It is very expensive but also very out of stock!

I have rosacea and can vouch for the Revolution one. Doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and only £6.99 from Superdrug.

I just asked this but I wanted some correcter/moisturiser rather than primer as I'm not really wearing foundation at the moment. I got some Dr Jart Cicapair and I really like it - it's calming as well as correcting so I put it on angry bits at night as well.

Barney77 · 13/05/2020 10:42

Can I second the Erborian one? Amazing stuff. And their cc cream on top is a game changer!

Sarcelle · 13/05/2020 12:40

I will try the Eborian one. I am on a couple of wait lists!

Erborian is the best on the market. Took me ages to get a tube as was always out of stock but it lasts a good year as you don't need to use much. Lifesaver for me as I have really red skin which flushes easily.

HermioneWeasley · 13/05/2020 19:53

I’ve just started with Rosalique. I thought it was pricey at £25, it really does the trick and is SPF 50

Mumof31981 · 13/05/2020 21:07

The Erborian website has the primer in stock in both 15 and 45ml. Free p&p too

Sarcelle · 14/05/2020 07:54

Thanks for the tip off. I have bought the trial size first.

I've just ordered some too, is someone on commission here 😁

StCharlotte · 14/05/2020 09:27

This reminds me of the time I used the No.7 one, probably 40 years ago now. Went for lunch, topped it up in the toilets, left the restaurant, friend marched me back in and scrubbed it off. I'd obviously overdone it as my whole face was a pre-vomit shade of green in the outside light.

Mascotte · 14/05/2020 09:35

@StCharlotte me too 😂

I didn't venture green again til last year when I got my makeup done as I was so traumatised.

Staywithmemyblood · 14/05/2020 10:19

🙋I've just ordered the Erborian too. I've got high expectations now! No more red cheeks for me Blush 🤞

I have seen something even worse in another zoom meeting today. I seem to be developing a bald patch - my parting is wider. It has probably been doing it gradually but because I was playing around with camera setting I spotted it.

I normally avoid photos etc, this zoom malarky is playing havoc with my self esteem. I thought I was a bit of a sort before all this.

What colour is your hair? I have lots of fine hair but it's very pale blonde and all but disappears in front of the camera and if there's bright light on it, it looks like my parting is massive and it really isn't.

Aprilcherry04 · 14/05/2020 18:14

I've got a couple of samples of rosalique and I'm quite impressed. U need to use it very sparingly so even at £25 should last for ages

Sarcelle · 14/05/2020 19:00

@StCharlotte It's dark blonde. Lots of hair (I thought), it's heavy at the bottom. I wasn't under a light. It looked like a strip of white. I got such a shock. I spent the whole meeting in a weird position because I didn't want anybody to see.

I use no7 green primer and it's pretty good, I feel there could be something better though. Rosalique keeps popping up on my facebook, might have to try it.

MehMehMeow · 14/05/2020 19:49

I’ve tried various ones - LOreal, No7, Clinique (that was a powder), Benefit, NYX, Smashbox - plus laser (which has helped but not quite enough). Most are crap. I like Dr Jart Cicarepair Coloyr Corrector is the best I’ve found so far and the jar lasts forever. I’ve recently brought the Erborian CC cream which I like, so I’ve put the Erborian colour corrector on my list
