Obvs not able to pay anyone to do this currently - is there a decent DIY alternative? I have very light eyelashes and would like to have them darker without bothering with mascara every day.

I bought a Refectocil kit (new) from eBay and found it relatively straightforward and successful (but obviously be careful!!!). I painted it onto my lashes as carefully as I could although as (obviously) my eyes were open and I didn’t want to go too close to the eye itself, I couldn’t get completely to the roots on some of them. Looks fine though. Will probably continue with the DIY approach even after lockdown as it will save me a tonne of money over a period of time.

I've been using Refectocil tint on both my lashes (black/1) and brows (medium brown/3) for years and it's great. I would never have it done in a salon again, you save a fortune doing it at home.

I mix it with 3% peroxide but, as Marjoriesdoor says, you can buy kits that include this. I use a tiny eyeliner brush and am able to get close to the roots. Have a cotton bud soaked in eye make up remover to hand as it's kind of inevitable you'll get it on your skin. I also use gel pads under my eyes to protect the skin from the tint - like these:

After doing my own lash and brow tinting, I build up the confidence to do other things at home and now do my own lash lifts (LVL), brow lamination and SNS/dip powder nails! I save so much money, it's great. I also quite enjoy doing it all.
