The ordinary retinoids all sold out. Alternatives?

I have finally got my skin sorted and have been using The ordinary granactive retinoid 2% but have nearly run out. I was going to move on to the 5% next but they are sold out everywhere. Including all the 2%. I had a look at The Inkey List and was tempted but it I think it's only 2%, although I could just go with a 2 again. Are there any other brands I should be looking at around the same price point?

I had the same problem, with the Ordinary selling out,so I ordered Paula's choice it's more expensive, but so far so good. You could also try Poppy Austin, really cheap and the reviews are really good ( on Amazon and on the beauty forums).I haven't tried Poppy Austin, as I ordered the Paula's choice first, but I think I will be trying it next.

Suddenly relieved I panic bought a back up bottle!

choc27 · 10/05/2020 18:52

Im gutted, I don't really want to change products as I have had a lifetime of shit skin and when I find something that works I don't tend to change it!

I’ve started using this one as I couldn’t get any The Ordinary stuff. It seems ok I reckon.

choc27 · 10/05/2020 21:44

Ah that's the one I was looking at but wasn't sure of the strength.

I think if you’re on a low budget stick to your the ordinary product, at least you know it works for you so you won’t waste money experimenting

choc27 · 10/05/2020 21:48

I just wish I knew when it would be back in stock!

OP posts:
Mnthrowaway20202 · 10/05/2020 22:07

I know, they come in/out of stock frequently as they persistently have stock issues.

Just stalk all the stockist websites you can find - keep each one open in a tab and refresh them daily. Sign up to all the email lists etc.

Worst case scenario there’s a set for £27 here

choc27 · 11/05/2020 08:04

Thanks I'll keep just keep checking I think For a bit and then if I actually run out I'll go for the inkey list.

OP I am having the exact same dilemma, I wondered if anyone had experience of this brand www.victoriahealth.com/editorial/garden-of-wisdom-skincare-regimens.

I see a 5% granactive retinoid available.

Mightymurphy · 11/05/2020 09:13

Next stock TO. Don’t know what they currently have though.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 11/05/2020 09:14

I've noticed that TO had no salicylic acid either. I've bought a Revolution one in the same percentage. Had to swap my Vit C as well but I was using an Eva Naturals one and now I'm on Poppy Austin.

I love Hada Labo. Reasonable and lasts a long time. X

I haven't used their retinoids but the inkey list products are great. And affordable imo

MabelMoo23 · 11/05/2020 20:24

Inkey list definitely

danuta22 · 11/05/2020 20:33

I got some The ordinary stuff from Boots

choc27 · 11/05/2020 21:42

Sold out I boots and every where else that sells it. Might just go for inkey list.

I've got the Garden of Wisdom one. Much prefer it (and Victoria Health in general,) to The Ordinary.

Soontobe60 · 11/05/2020 22:14

Have a look at this dermatologist, she has a YouTube channel where she reviews all sorts of products. The link is to one of her videos, not about retinoids specifically.

JessicaDay · 11/05/2020 22:45

Another vote for Garden of Wisdom.

choc27 · 12/05/2020 16:23

Thanks for the link! And I'll check out garden of wisdom.

OP posts:
Vix20678 · 12/05/2020 16:32

Came on to recommend Garden of Wisdom as well.

choc27 · 12/05/2020 18:46

Ordered from garden of wisdom! Thank you. They had a 5% for a similar price so I went with them!

SO much of TO stock is out of stock everywhere. What is going on?
