Facial SPF

Which high factor SPF do you recommend for face?

Currently not using anything but very aware I should be! I can't stand the feeling of anything sticky on my face so I'm looking for something that feels invisible

ultrason face factor 30. I have oily skin. Anything else makes my skin break out.

vengeancer · 10/05/2020 10:57

ultrasun, I mean.

Thinkle · 10/05/2020 11:44

Heliocare fluid cream

teta · 10/05/2020 11:50

Clinique City block 40 - brilliant stuff.

albicocca · 10/05/2020 11:54

Frezyderm. Doesn't feel like a spf at all. Lovely smooth "velvet" finish.

VanGoghsDog · 10/05/2020 12:02

I like this one, really light:

Second freezyderm. Not like a cream or sticky. Beautiful light texture that makes skin look lush. And cheap!

Sharkyfan · 10/05/2020 12:38

@teta and anyone else that knows...
I like the Clinique stuff, maybe for for 40 again or the sheer spf 25.
Do you put on normal moisturiser first? (Olay fluid which is spf15 but don’t think that’s enough) or would that stop the Clinique sun block soaking in and being effective?

Then do you put normal foundation on top? I normally wear that for work (Clinique, think it’s the total perfection one but not sure without looking).

Or maybe should I moisturise at night instead of morning? Currently don’t do night only morning.

Dinosaurus86 · 10/05/2020 12:40

I also really rate Clinique city block (spf 40)!

teta · 10/05/2020 12:44

I use a moisturiser as well - Cerave day cream also with spf. Then the city block and then just use foundation where I need it. I'm currently using the latest formulation of refresh foundation .
I have rosacea that is really exacerbated by the sun. Plus I often use Azelaic acid as well as it really helps the redness & flushing in warm weather.

Buggedandconfused · 10/05/2020 12:50

Biore Watery Essence SPF 50 is great.

GuyFawkesDay · 10/05/2020 12:53

Étude House Sunprise.

The Asian sunscreens are amazing.

La Roche Posay anthelios is fab, not too expensive either usually around £17 but you can get it for around £11-£14 when on offer.

To be honest I would start inexpensive, make sure it is "broad spectrum" which is UVA and UVB protection and around SPF 30. It depends on your skin type as to the best type of SPF for you I'd have a nosy on the Boots website look at some reviews and try some out.

I will say though, if you have a nice outdoor event with lots of photos (e.g. a wedding) don't wear SPF, your face will have a white cast on photos

Tamtam86 · 11/05/2020 07:44

Thank you so much, this is really helpful, going to have a look at the reviews today Smile

And thanks for the tip @optimisticpessimist01, for whenever we are allowed nice outdoor events again!

I've just started using Mimitika Spf50 after seeing it recommended on here and I really like it, so far.

OhYeahLucky · 11/05/2020 08:17

I have the heliocare cream, bought it after it was recommended on here but personally I don’t like it. It makesmy skin look really dull. I’ve also used Ultrasun which was much better.

Might try the frezyderm next, dd uses their anticort cream for eczema and it’s fab!
