Ladies with large breasts. Do bras exist that provide amazing support but don’t look awful?

I’m finding myself wearing my sports bras more as I like the support. My ordinary bras need replacing so I know that is part of the problem. So, as I’m in the market to replace my bras I’d like to find one that minimises jiggling but doesn’t look like a sport bra or matronly.

Any ideas?

Following with interest... have bought my bras from bravissimo for many years. One of the few places I can get my size (36jj). One thing I must say is you need to try different styles. I struggle with the underwires poking under his armpit, panache tango are very bad for this. Bravissimo Melrose bra doesn’t give me this problem, but I can’t wear their Alana style which many people rave about. Previous comment about not all shoes being comfortable for everyone despite the size is very apt. You need to try them on. I have bras in three different back/cup sizes, but they’re all comfortable.

I find M&S Rosie range (up to G) excellent - pretty and comfortable

thenightsky · 17/05/2020 22:32

Oh yes to the M&S Rosie range... got a 34E that is perfect.

The shoes analogy is good. Bravissimo fitted me into a panache once and it was Uncomfortable and the underwire rubbed me sore between my breasts. I complained and they allowed me to return it for a refund (when they’d be unable to re-sell it). It just wasn’t the right shape for me, even though it technically fitted. All the other bras I’ve had from there have been fine.

Right, I’ve just order a Freya and 2 Fantasie bras from brastop. Fingers crossed one of them works.

This thread has been brilliant, so glad I asked!

Another Boob or Bust / Fantasie Side support fan here. I pick them up in sales / on eBay BNWT / Brastop / Belle Lingerie / Leiaa etc like other posters have said. Was wearing 34c but turns out I'm actually a 30g.

Very tempted to try a Molke though

Tootletum · 19/05/2020 21:08

I hate bravissimo. They put all the maternity Bea's at ankle heights great idea when one is 30-odd weeks pregnant, since bending over is a total cinch! And endlessly having to book for fittings is just a pain with a on and if kids. Anyway, brands I like are all on figleaves and it's easy to return (32f). I like Anita, Chantelle (some comfy seamless crop tops), Freya, Pour Moi.

AtopAHighHill · 19/05/2020 21:13

I'm a J cup and love the Glamorise bras, I can't wear underwired ones but their nonwired bras really do give exceptional support and comfort.

AyUpMiDuck · 19/05/2020 23:03

Elomi have been great for me, but I am considerably bigger in the band than OP.

LivePositively · 20/05/2020 00:03

I really like Curvy Kate bras but I find the underwire starts to come out after about 4 months and so need replacing. I bought 3 in January and 2 of them have lost wires recently which is really annoying because they are quite expensive.

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/05/2020 06:40

If you are frequently losing wires it's often a sign of a fit problem - not necessarily the wrong size, but possibly the wrong shape meaning that the wire and casing isn't sitting quite right against your body. Even being a little bit off can mean that there's friction between wire and casing causing them to go pop.

I always find CK too wide and shallow for me, perhaps you need a style with a little more depth or a little narrower?

TreeKangaroo · 20/05/2020 11:35

Lepel and Panache good for 34E. Sign up to Figleaves - they do lots of offers and have an outlet shop. I've found M&S uncomfortable

Fallsballs · 20/05/2020 12:32

Empreinte are good but pricey - I like elomi but I know exactly what style suits me. I buy them in sales as I go through bras quickly but I wear 2 x stretch crop tops together in the house.
I wish Spanx or similar would design a great structure for us. They do bras but not big cup sizes and mainly from America.
I’d like to try molke but I can’t believe they’re supportive !

Fallsballs · 20/05/2020 12:33

Oh and M&S are shite imo. Nothing is comfortable or works on me now. Amazing to think they used to be good (80’s 90’s).

woodhill · 20/05/2020 13:42

My wires have never come out of my bras CK included
