Ladies with large breasts. Do bras exist that provide amazing support but don’t look awful?

Readysetcake · 08/05/2020 14:31

I’m finding myself wearing my sports bras more as I like the support. My ordinary bras need replacing so I know that is part of the problem. So, as I’m in the market to replace my bras I’d like to find one that minimises jiggling but doesn’t look like a sport bra or matronly.

Any ideas?

I have a bra from Atollo lingerie. They cater for smaller band/bigger bust types. Their bras are gorgeous and give the most amazing shape and uplift. They also do online fittings.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 10/05/2020 14:54

Ann Summers are far better on bras than they used to be. Good range of sizes & prices and there are some really pretty ones.

This keeps appearing on my FB page. Has anyone tried it and does it work?

BubblesBuddy · 10/05/2020 15:56

Rigby and Peller have a great choice but some are expensive. It’s useful to be measured by them before you buy. When that’s allowed of course.

LarryUnderwood · 10/05/2020 16:01

Molke. I was SHOCKED when I got my first at the uplift and shape under clothes. My boobs look young again! And wire-free! They are the holy grail of bra comfort. Sadly not very pretty but fun and easy to wear. I have 4 now and anytime I wear an underwire I spend the day wishing I was wearing a molke. I'm 32GG.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/05/2020 19:52

Do Molke really give uplift? They look very soft and unsupportive, like a particularly loose bra top.

Sexnotgender · 10/05/2020 19:55

I wear panache as they do nice nursing bras, I’m a 32E/F depending on style.

MeadowHay · 10/05/2020 19:57

Bravissimo! Free returns and the online chat is super helpful. An actual fitting in store is best but obviously not an option now. I mostly wear their own brand bras now and I no longer buy bras from anywhere else really. They're excellent.

ScottishDiblet · 10/05/2020 20:05

attollolingerie.com/ They are an
Amazing company that are really into beautiful but very supportive bras for the smaller back and larger busted. You can Skype them and they will fit you by sight. Strongly recommend.

flabbyflabbyflabguts · 10/05/2020 20:05

I wear a 28g/30ff. And live I. Sport bras at the moment. I like the unfussy plain look though

attackedbycritters · 10/05/2020 20:09

Another molke, and to be honest, I prefer them looks wise to the more conventional lace and such.

TrickyD · 10/05/2020 21:30

Has anyone tried these ?

They look more uplifting and separating than Molke.

isabellerossignol · 10/05/2020 21:39

I looked at Atollo online earlier and put my measurements in, and got a response saying that they don't cater for anything bigger than an overbust measurement of 38 inches. Which I thought was really odd since they claim to specialise in small back sizes with big cups. They have a 36HH bra on their site so how could that possibly measure 38 inches or less overbust?

So disappointed as I was really excited when I saw the website, thought there was something new for me to try.

AnxiousElephant77 · 10/05/2020 21:40

I don't like Bravissimo as there are so many balconette styles which in my opinion look awful. I much prefer a non padded plunge. My vote is for Curvy Kate.

LarryUnderwood · 10/05/2020 22:18

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar molke give phenomenal lift. I was absolutely flabbergasted. I can properly cross.my arms without having to even brush my underboob when wearing a molke, and in any other bra (bravissimo included) I'm doing a les dawson bosom-heave.

JemimaPuddleCat · 10/05/2020 22:28

Quick question if anyone knows. I have a particular size that I always buy in Curvy Kate. How does this compare to sizing from Fantasie or Freya? Pretty much the same?

MikeEhrmantraut · 10/05/2020 22:28

Fantasie and Freya here also. I'm a 34F. Good amount of lift and separate but the t shirt bras are great as they go under everything, are smooth and not granny looking. Good amount of cleavage without ending up with them either under your chin or with a credit card swipe look.

okiedokieme · 10/05/2020 22:29

Debenhams own brand are good, have a good new one from M&S in 34F too

isabellerossignol · 10/05/2020 22:33

JemimaPuddleCat I find Curvy Kate to be the same size as Freya and Fantasie.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 10/05/2020 22:40

Thanks Larry, I might give Molke a whirl then.

GrimDamnFanjo · 11/05/2020 01:18

A lot of whether a bra will work or not is down to the design. I'm about a 36 G and need bras with side support to keep my boobs supported.
Going to a lingerie shop is very helpful as they will know the designs to improve the way your figure looks. I wear a couple of designs from Fantasie and I think Elodie?

ClientQ · 11/05/2020 02:49

It's really trial and error
Freya don't work for me, panache used to but now I find the centre gore uncomfortable. My new favourite is elomi Matilda which I can sleep in, it's so comfy on me

Spaceprincess · 11/05/2020 07:29

34H , wear Freya, Pour Moi, Debenhams own brand, Curvy Kate.

thejoysofboys · 11/05/2020 07:40

It’s the fit that’s so important. Even if you don’t buy from Bravissimo, use their on line measuring guide.
The chest band needs to be right for it to be supportive.
I spent years in the wrong size because M&S kept selling me their smallest back size (which was 32 then, and I’m actually a 28 which they don’t make)
