Think this dress would suit me?

I found a dress really similar to this and am considering it.

But I am 5ft 1 and the dress would come down to my knees (I normally prefer stuff to fall a bit higher). I am 31 and busty (34G ish). Dress is a size 12 and might have an extra two inch of give at the bust (I'm a 10-12). But think that should be ok. Can use a belt too if it falls a bit loose.

I think its adorable. But seen as I'm a short ass and a bit oddly proportioned I worry it might swamp me xD

Would you risk it?

Think this dress would suit me?

It's lovely! Try it on with high heels and you might need a minimiser. It will likely suit an hourglass type as it's all about the waist.

I am short and knee length dresses make me look shorter and frumpy so I wouldn’t choose this dress in your situation

Wanderlust21 · 07/05/2020 19:59

Yeah I was just thinking I'll have to bring my waist in a bit xD tf for belts, I think I'll get away with it.

Maybe if I practice wearing my heels the legs will look ok :) I always worry about them lines making my legs look shorter.

But it's just so pretty!

What's a 'minimiser' btw?

Minimiser bra.

Wanderlust21 · 07/05/2020 20:09

Aha gotcha. Lol bloody difficult enough time finding any bra that fits as it is xD

I think that shape and style of dress looks much better on short with curves than tall and lean, you’ll look fab.

Wanderlust21 · 07/05/2020 20:24

Thanks all. I think I'll risk it as it is only £30 (second hand. It was 170 odds apparently, and that seems to check out). Worst comes down to it I'll stick it back on ebay.

Better get the heels out and start practicing.

oh that is cute! i think it's made for a curvier figure :)

Wanderlust21 · 07/05/2020 21:30

Yeah I think it'll be ok. My ass isnt small either but...in comparison to the bust maybe and I think the bottom part of this should balance me out a bit. It'll all depend on where that hem falls I think. If it's on or above the knee I think I can make it work with some tweaks just nicely.

I dont have a little black dress either so theres that excuse too :)

Where I'm going to wear it I have no idea though. I'm so guilty of buying fir nights out I never have rather than day to day stuff lol.

Go for it! I'm your height and size and would wear it

Scattyhattie · 09/05/2020 01:45

Could probably hitch the hem up shorter with few stitches given its got that ruffled look.

Mucklowe · 09/05/2020 05:09

It looks like a bin bag!

ElizabethMainwaring · 09/05/2020 05:39

It does actually look like a bin bag. But you say your dress is similar, so hopefully it's nicer. That dress looks like it's made from lining fabric.

i love this color, very sexy
