Fake tan for pale redheads

Inspired by the 'Best beauty decision' thread, I'm now considering using fake tan for the first time ever... but what products are good for enhancing the blue-ish legs of a natural redhead without looking ridiculous?

Should I risk a DIY option - as a complete newbie - or trust a salon? I'd be worried a salon would go far too dark, as their idea of a subtle glow would be very different to mine!

I'm not a red head but have fair skin and using fake bake sport and love it. No streaking so far and easy to apply 😀

I'm a natural redhead with lots of freckles and i wear bondi sands foam light in the summer.

Another natural redhead with freckles. Fake tan has never worked for me, always streaked so I've previously stuck to wash off Rimmel sun shimmer. However, past few years I have been using St Moriz mousse tanner (light) and have no need to try anything else now. Goes on quickly with a guide colour then washed off to leave really natural tan. The range is so cheap compared to the big name brands. Just moisturise knees, ankles, elbows and other dry bits. And apply with a tanning mitt - that's a must for me.
