I use those cold wax strips.
One in one direction, one in the other, once a week. Pluck any stragglers left.
Works fine for me.

Not tried the Superdrug one but I have the Nads Sugaring kit which is really good .

Exfoliate
Dry well, add a light dust of talc.
You need to apply along the hair growth and remove against - hair on armpits can grow all ways .
Rub the strip over the wax well (I do this to gear myself up for the next bit)
Keep the strip parellel to your skin and whip it off deftly before you have time to ponder

Long hair is easy to grip but I found the cold wax pulls when its applied .

SO satisfying to look at the hoiked out hairs and the smooth underarm Grin

I use the strips. Only have to use them once every few months now. I found the sugaring/wax kits too fiddly for underarms.

applesauce1 · 19/05/2020 23:01

I did mine this morning. Lovely growth. I use normal rub between your hands strips (but I warm mine with a hairdryer). One strip and it's all gone. Doesn't hurt. I've been doing it for years and I barely have any hair now. It's very thin and sparse.
Go for it!

Girlinglasses · 19/05/2020 23:11

Or buy an epilator- the ones that you can use in water are better as they are less painful 😬 first time you use it it hurts a lot (similar to waxing I guess) but if you keep on top of it weekly it is only removing strays that grow back so gets pretty easy pretty quick! I have used mine for years and my hair is now much thinner and sparser and easy to keep on top of! Works out as much cheaper over time too.

threesecrets · 19/05/2020 23:23

I got a hot wax melting pot. I have only done it a few times. It's ok if you get the wax on proper thickness, if not, it's a sticky mess

HostessTrolley · 20/05/2020 13:38

I use an epilator on my legs, have done for years, but I just can’t pluck up the courage to do it on my armpits or bikini line. I’m really missing my waxing lady 😢

Girlinglasses · 20/05/2020 15:53

@hostesstrolley I do both 😬 it is terrifying at first but, no more than the legs, it's just stops hurting all that much after you do it once or twice. Defo recommend the underwater ones though- you can epilate in the bath so your pores are nice and open!

PenfoldsFive · 20/05/2020 16:08

Oh god, I had an epilator in 1989 and the agony! It was like being waxed very very slowly.

Girlinglasses · 20/05/2020 16:54

@PenfoldsFive yes agree, we used to call the one my mum had in the early 90s when we were little "the torturer" 🙈 But they have improved I swear 😂😂😂

PinPon · 20/05/2020 16:58

I use cold wax strips. Straightforward, no hair and no mess.

pinkrocker · 20/05/2020 16:58

Epilation! Legs and underarms. All done in 20 mins, last for weeks.
(Bikini would not be a good idea with one of those)

Mnthrowaway20202 · 20/05/2020 17:14

Only have to use them once every few months now

How is this even possible? I have waxed for years and although the regrowth is thin/sparse I still redo my underarms done once a month. Are you just leaving them partially hairy or does your hair genuinely not grow for a few months?

OllyBJolly · 20/05/2020 18:30

@Mnthrowaway20202. Genuinely no longer grows. When I do wax I might have 4 or 5 very long hairs. Same with legs - I usually get a leg wax along with a bikini wax before holidays and the therapist has said there's nothing to wax. (There is, just a few very long hairs!)

I have been waxing for around 30 years so I think the follicles are maybe permanently damaged.

FireUnderpants · 20/05/2020 18:39

Hot wax here. A £20 pot off eBay has lasted me several years, and the wax beans are pretty much all the same way in effectiveness.

Strips just add to the confusion. Apply wax upwards, pull off downwards. Then apply wax downwards and pull off upwards.

I haven’t shaved in years.
