Best bras for thin & busty

I’d like a bra that doesn’t have huge straps, looks nice when half-dressed, preferably smooth cups under t-shirts (t-shirt bra is fine or something prettier that’s comfortable), preferably a minimiser. Any recommendations on what brands to choose? I’m about a 34EE or so.

Try Freya. Some of the deco style bras might work.

Passthecake30 · 04/05/2020 06:47

Cleo Lexi is my go to bra.

Ritascornershop · 04/05/2020 07:01

Thanks :) Totally forgot to say I don’t like wearing non-padded bras, so that’s a must. Any more?

Op have you measured for your bra correctly? You said thin and busty but a 34 band sounds quite big for someone thin. I'm a size 12 and a 32 back.
Most people are wearing the wrong size bra. Try the boob or bust method.

KatharinaRosalie · 04/05/2020 07:51

Yes try the Boob or Bust on Facebook. I would not describe myself as thin but wear a 30 bra. And most UK brands don't have an EE size, it goes straight from E to F.
then check out this site. www.brastop.com/ or this place here, I love the Bravissimo Abby bra. www.bravissimo.com/collections/t-shirt-bras/
Brands of course fit differently, some have wider and shallower wires, some have narrower, so it's also a question of finding a good fit for you. I personally hate minimisers that squeeze your boobs flat and spread them out, not very flattering.

Strongbeatsskinny · 04/05/2020 08:23

The op might not be from the UK hence the EE sizing and her saying she’s slim.

Ritascornershop · 04/05/2020 13:46

I’ll check those sights out, thanks. I’m in Canada, where (for someone in their 50’s) I’m slim compared to everyone else (less so compared to me at 17). I’m a UK size 10-12 (gained some in lockdown).

But still wondering about a non-padded nice-looking bra with thinnish straps that looks smooth under clothes :)

Sorry! Just noticed I said I don’t like wearing non-padded above - the opposite of what I meant. I want a non-padded one!!!

most UK 10-12 would rather be in 30-32 bras, so I would still suggest re-measuring.

GrumpyHoonMain · 04/05/2020 14:13

The issue here is that 34 EE isn’t considered thin and busty in the sense that it’s rare to find pretty / sexy bras aimed at younger people. I agree that you probably should remeasure - seems too big if you fit into 10/12 tops.

XingMing · 04/05/2020 14:41

Chantelle Hedona might be what you're looking for. Or PrimaDonna Deauville is quite pretty, gives a good shape under clothes. The Chantelle bras are about half the price of the PrimaDonna ones. Whether you can get them in Canada... I couldn't say.

Ritascornershop · 04/05/2020 15:28

Well! I’ve been measured when in the UK at Debenhams and they said 34E. Boom or bust says 30HH!! Good lord. That sounds enormous in terms of cups.

Thanks Xing, I’ll look up those brands :)

I’m a size 10 and wear a back size 30 but my friend who is a size 8 needs a 34 or she gets back fat issues so really depends how you’re built. I’ve had a very good look as couldn’t work it out! The normal way women wear bras wrong is too big at the back and too small in the cup. I like the Panache tango bras (I’m 30FF)

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 05/05/2020 18:01

30HH is nothing like 36HH. If you’re in Canada, is there somewhere the offers free delivery returns? Brastop in the UK is great, but maybe not viable for international returns. I’d measure and then order a load to try on.

Rollerbird · 05/05/2020 18:06

The 30 sounds more correct
I'm a 12 and a 32 band (32f) I have previously worn a 36c.

Santina · 05/05/2020 18:54

I wear Chantelle, I have a small back but big cup size. No thick straps, good fit, comfortable and give a lovely shape. Currently have the orangerie range, not cheap but well worth the money.

Banaltra · 05/05/2020 19:00

I'm a size 10 and I've 32ff boobs. I love Freya. Their deco range has reasonably thin straps for an ff bra. Otherwise the wonder bra strapless. It is as supportive but obvs has no straps.

Furball · 05/05/2020 19:16

For info to the cause I'm a size 16 and a 34ff I am not classed as busty

The cup size is relevant to the band

I gained all my info from this site - the better bra campaign and never looked back.

XingMing · 05/05/2020 20:36

If it helps, I am lucky to live between two towns which both have excellent independent lingerie shops, and the only range common to both of them is Chantelle. Neither buys the whole new season, but both keep Hedona in stock in all the sizes (not all colours) all the time. And I'd add an aside that if you wanted a soft unwired bra that's comfortable and makes you look presentable in loungewear, the Chantelle version in XL is probably your best bet. It is shamelessly overpriced, but it is supportive and comfortable. Do not buy the Sloggi equivalent which is much cheaper and comes in better colours, because it's no good for anyone over a 34 chest or a D cup.

Wallyandasnog · 05/05/2020 21:08

30HH sounds right. I used to wear a 36F then when got fitted went into a 32H having lost weight now and in a size 12 I'm wearing a 30HH as I've lost very little weight off my boobs. Have a really good look at go on or just as it really explains the correlation between band size and cup size. Good luck!!

Wallyandasnog · 05/05/2020 21:09

Sorry... 'go on or just' should read 'boob or bust'

HermanHermit · 05/05/2020 21:16

Ladies you are all in urgent need of miss Mandalay- lovely bra sized swimwear as well as lingerie and they do a 28” back! Missmandalay.com

RedWillowWreckless · 05/05/2020 22:10

I'm a 28 or 30 FF and love Panache - Tango or Envy are my favourites but probably a bit lacy for some.

Ritascornershop · 05/05/2020 22:39

Thanks so much all! This is all such good information. I need to open a bunch of windows on the desktop and see what I like. I’m intrigued to see what the new to me size feels like.
