Kerastase vs Pureology, how do they compare?

Has anybody used both? I use Kerastase but thinking of trying Pureology Hydrate for coloured hair. I would buy the shampoo and the mask. I am very fussy with shampoo/conditioner and spend a fortune trying different ones!

My hair is coloured and quite dry/frizzy with a bit of a wave in it. It can go greasy at the roots but I wash it every day. I have used lots of the Kerastase range but find the coloured hair one best suited to my hair. Conditioner doesn’t make much difference so I use the mask as a conditioner and it works well.

If you have tried both which would you say is the best one and why?

I hear mixed things about Pureology but the positive reviews are so positive that I am thinking of trying it.

Kerastase didn't work well for me. I have quite fine hair and although initially it seemed ok by the time I got halfway through the bottle it was leaving my hair very limp amd heavy.
I have used Pureology for many years now. The only brand I haven't had to chop and change even though the formula was altered a few years ago.
I alternate between clean volume and best blonde. I'd say clean volume is my favourite, it smells fab.

I use Pureology and switched from Kerastase, for the same reasons @DrWAnker mentioned, made my hair a bit bleurggh and a bit limp. But I really like Pureology, I also like the fact that it doesn’t contain parabens and SLS’s

I use strength as I have highlighted hair and it’s quite weak. I really like it, and can definitely recommend

I swap between the too. I have bleach highlights so my hair is processed. The new Kerastase Genesis range is very good. I do like Pureology hydrate too.

I’m allergic to Kerastase, brings me out in a rash all over my body. I did however find it OK for my hair Smile.

I don’t really like Pureology since they changed the formula. My favourite was the smoothing one, used to be in a brown bottle, they changed the name and it’s now on a pink bottle but not half as effective IMO.

Thank you! Kerastase works ok for me but after a while It seems that it doesn’t do much! I would use the Pureology hydrate if I try it as that looks suited to my hair type.

I haven’t tried the new Kerastase range @TheFaerieQueen. What hair type do you have? I have read that it can be a little drying and that is the last thing I need. I am going to buy the Pureology and try it but buy the mask and use it as a conditioner as I do with Kerastase).
