Are there any experts on hair extensions here?

I had remi micro ring extensions fitted for the first time in early Feb (half head) for volume not length.

I was supposed to go for my first maintenance appointment in March but couldn’t due to the lockdown.

They’re growing out and are clumping really easily - I’m brushing them regularly and wearing my hair in a short plait to prevent it tangling up.

Any ideas how I can stop it tangling? I’m going to end up with dreadlocks otherwise! (First world problem I know)

I’ve no idea but I’m in the same boat. I’ve tried to message my extension hairdresser on insta but she hasn’t replied.

I had mine put in (also half head for volume) in Nov, had maintenance in Feb and was due to have them removed last month. I’m really worried about them!

Hope someone comes in to advise...

I took mine out myself. If you have someone to help, you can crush the micro rings with pliers and pull through, then carefully comb out any knots. Plenty of videos on YouTube and you can buy special bond breaking pliers online. Not ideal, but I thought that the knots would only get worse

I’ve thought about this but so scared!!!

Thanks for your replies!
I’m trying to hang onto them if I can as they were new in February. I’m also worried that I’ll be half bald as I’m losing so much hair! (No idea if it’s my hair or the extensions Confused)

I had micro ones in January, I was due to go a few days after lockdown came in to have them out, hair highlighted and put back in.
I've ordered some of the pliers and looked at the videos online but I'm home alone with a 12 year old so I'm not sure if I'll manage to do it myself.
Just hoping hair salons can open sooner rather than later so I can wait it out.
